Dr. Nancy Eriksen, MD

Dr. Eriksen was terrible -- we had our routine 20 week ultrasound and everything looked normal except one blood vessel coming to his heart (his SVC was smaller than what she expected). When I asked her what this could mean/indicate, she literally had NO answers for me. All she said was "I've been doing this for over 20 years, so I know what to look for". She referred me to fetal cardiology for further imaging and the cardiologist was actually CONFUSED as to why we were there. He said he has never heard of needing further workup for a small SVC with everything else in the baby's heart being normal. He even said the fetal cardiology team doesn't even measure the SVC quantitatively. So literally $2,000 later (out of pocket) and weeks of anxiety/worry about my baby's health, I received a detailed ultrasound of baby's heart and reassurance from the fetal cardiologist that everything was normal and that there was no reason for Dr. Eriksen to have referred me to their office.

We were referred to MFM for a nuchal translucency ultrasound. We asked what the estimated age was and Dr. Eriksen did not know. The ultrasound tech showed us the placenta on the ultrasound. Our second question was about the location of the placenta in the uterus. Dr. Eriksen replied "Are you going to obsess about everything during your pregnancy?" She was very rude and did not appear to have reviewed the images.
