Refused appt even though insurance eligible
Scheduled appointment for my son (having seen Dr. Refice in the past), however because our insurance claims are handled through a third-party administrator vs an insurance company directly, the doctor refused to keep the appointment. Office staff indicated that it is too much of a hassle, had issues in the past, and the doctor wants to be paid. She would have gotten paid, but now she lost a customer.

I brought my 18-month-old twin boys to see Dr. Refice for strabismus (crossed eyes). The experience was terrible!! The wait time was well over an hour, which included a 45 minute wait for dilation (when we were told 30 minutes at most). Once the exam began Dr. Refice was forceful with my children and was rushing. She was not playful at all and is clearly not comfortable dealing with children. When my one son was so upset from her trying to look into his eyes to get a reading, I suggested giving him a break so he could calm down as he was crying and screaming from her forcing him to keep his head still and his eyes open. She refused and said "Oh, I think I got it now". She told us that they needed glasses. Not trusting her, I ended up taking my sons to Wills Eye Institute. They needed surgery, not glasses!! The glasses she prescribed were making their vision blurry. They have since had their surgery and they are no longer cross-eyed. Do not trust this woman with your children's eyes!!!!

Completely misdiagnosed my childs eye condition which was later confirmed by 2 separate doctors. She was quick and dismissive of my concerns.
