Continuing Excellent Care
It is now almost two years since my segmentectomy with Dr. Altorki and I have had CT scans every six months as a follow-up. At the appointments to discuss the results of the scan, I speak with a thorough and thoughtful nurse and then Dr. Altorki tells me the scan results with all pertinent medical information and his assessment of my status. I have told him that I hope to become a boring patient who never has any adverse findings on the scans! It is exceptionally comforting to be told that all is well by Dr. Altorki because he has the experience and expertise to be the most excellent judge of my lung health.

Just what the Dr ordered…..
Couldn't ask for a better doc! If you have the chance to see Dr. Altorki, you'll understand. He's honest and upfront, tackling even my silliest questions (I had a few). No nonsense and super straightforward, he keeps your expectations in check. Plus, he goes the extra mile to make you feel comfortable, even when you're feeling your worst.

Treated by the Head of Thoracic Surgery at NYPH
When your surgeon is head of a department at a very large hospital, you are being treated not just by him/her but also by a large staff of Nurse Practitioners, Physicians Assistants and the scramble of new two-letter medical acronyms. The question becomes: How is the team, including the surgeon? The answer for my lung resection in July 2023: Grrrr-ate! Older Boomers will remember where that comes from. If there's a wait to see them, it's worth every second. Run, do not walk, to Dr. Altorki.

The Best!
Not only is Dr Altorki awesome, but his entire staff had provided me with the best experience I have ever had in a doctors office. The Dr himself, Zahara, Jackie and Brianna are absolutely amazing. Not are they extremely fast and attentive but they are super polite and responsive. I have only had contact with them for a week, but I have no doubt that they are providing me with a lever of care that I could not find ANYWHERE else!
