Uh, no!
Dr. Kahn seemed nice enough, recommending my spouse have a procedure that had been done before by another doctor, but whatever positive effects there had been having worn off. My spouse declined the surgery both due to age and the surgery not being permanent. Calling Dr. Kahn MULTIPLE times in order to discuss another option, electrocauterization, got us exactly ZERO return calls, so we looked elsewhere. We were extremely fortunate to then find a Portland ophthamologist who took a great deal more interest and care in treating my spouse, eventually referring us to MERSI, an eye specialization clinic outside of Boston, which ended up being the best possible outcome because my spouse has a condition that Dr. Kahn didn't even mention AND for which Dr. Kahn's recommended treatment would have been extremely detrimental. I'd like to think Dr. Kahn meant well, but the lack of return calls, to me, speaks to someone who can't be bothered with you if you don't want major surgery.

Did blepharoplasty surgery on a relative of mine & left him with 1 eye that is significantly & very noticeably smaller than the other. Dr. Kahn tried to explain this by saying that the size difference was due to a contracting muscle in the patient's face (complete BS). The difference was not due to post-surgical swelling either. Years later the size difference is no less. DON'T go to this doctor!

Terrible experience. The cosmetic eyelid surgery he performed several years ago resulted in one eye that now looks strange, the vision in it is now bad, and the sensation in the eye is very uncomfortable every single day since surgery. I knew the day after surgery something was very wrong. He did not seem interested in my complications or to take them seriously. The stress, distress, concern, and the expense the permanent problems continue to cause me are immense. He also ran 1 hour+ late for nearly every appointment. He was several hours late for my surgery. He over-promised by a lot. I am reminded every day of what a mistake this was.

I bless the day I was referred to Dr. Kahn as he saved my sight by removing a tumor that was growing and other eye specialists gave me only a small chance of saving my sight. It was a very delicate operation, but I came through great and bless him every day that I wake up and can see. I can only say that you never know where you will find the greatest even in Portland. I wish you the same success I had, and know that you will be in good hands.

Dr Kahn performed upper eye lid surgery on me. My lids were drooping so far down that it was seriously affecting my vision. Great outcome! I think he’s personable and professional!

He performed eye lid and brow surgery on me. I'm a 61 year old male. My eyelids had started to droop so much that I had a difficult time seeing, especially by the end of the day. I found Dr. Kahn to be personable and professional, and I am thrilled with the results. Really, really good. Some people complained on this site about his timeliness, but he was always on time for me and his staff were great. This was a better than expected experience and so I recommend him without hesitation.

My surgery was a success. No complaints . I find Dr. Kahn has a lack of respect for his patients, or at least this patient. We arrived at the surgery at 7:15 for a 9:30 surgery. We were told that my ride was to stay on site until after surgery-completely unnecessary in this day of cell phones. Didn't get into the prep until 10:30 & I was at noon. Nearly 5 hours, my husband wasting his entire morning sitting in the waiting room. At the post op check up, Dr. Kahn had a student observing (fine by me). But, he talked to the student the entire time he removed my stitches and when done, shook my hand and left. Never showed me, in a mirror, what he had done. For the 8 week follow up, I arrived for my 9:20 appt, after 30 minutes asked the nurse how far behind he was running. One hour! At 9:20 am! Overbooking says "Your time is not important" A strong ego is a good thing in a surgeon. But not so big an ego that he disregards the person for whom he is caring. Very disappointed.

Had ectropion surgery on both eyes six months ago. One eye is fine, surgery on the other was botched. He was three hours late for surgery and I asked to leave, to reschedule. Was talked out of it. It was obvious that he was tired and I was concerned about the job he's do. I should have gone with my instincts. Have an ugly, bunched scar on the bad eye and ruined eyelashes. The eye is oddly shaped and is larger than the other. Shall wear sunglasses forever.

Watery eye: His office tried to double charge either mistakenly or on purpose, I can't say. But this happened as a result of every visit (3). He wasn't able to correct the watery eye after surgery or strictly using the medication route. I have skin damage under the eye still and this may contribute to my unhappiness around this issue. I can only speak to my experience and Dr. Kahn may be a perfectly competent physician but I will only know if I'm able to find cause and cure.
