Dr Koran has been very supportive during this difficult process. Supportive and encouraging during difficult times, positive and upbeat always. I consider this 4 year journey a success and Dr Koran a significant reason why it has been.

I saw Dr. Koren for non-surgical weight loss options. I had previously seen a bariaatric surgeon for a hiatal hernia repair- he recommend weight loss before this surgery. I have some underlying conditions and wanted some help in this journey. I went into this office feeling excited, empowered, and ready to begin!However, my appointment started with a 'why are you even here if you're seeing a bariatric surgeon' which really took me aback, and I drew a blank and ended up over-explaining because I felt like I needed to defend myself. The appointment progressed to a 4th grade health class level of 'eat your vegetables.' If it were that simple I would be a size 2! I have hormonal problems, kidney stones, and the hernia. Diet is hard for me. I was hoping to start a medicine- barely discussed- or talk to a dietitian, or come up with a good diet plan that would work instead of some photocopied papers from 1985 that have 20 foods on them that I cant eat.

Dr. Koren is probably the best doctor I've seen at Summa. At every visit she talks, listens, asks questions, and she wants me to ask questions. She is pleasant, compassionate, and has more patience than I could ask for. The visits don't feel rushed. She is encouraging, and just an all around good healthcare provider.
