Dr. Natasha Seerattan, MD

Over several negative experiences with other doctors I was ready to give up on Nemours. My husband took my daughter to Dr. Seerattan because she was available. He told me I should they going to her before leaving the practice. After I was told my daughter just had a virus, she ended up in the hospital. Both the initial doctor and the hospital never tested my daughter for flu. My daughter was released, yet still very sick. Back to the pediatrician (this time seeing Dr. Seerattan for the first time), she tested her for flu…and it was positive. Now, all three of my children have seen her for over three years. She is the best in my opinion. From a mom of three I can tell you she DOES listen!!!! She always does her best to get to the root of the issue. I appreciate her so much!!!!

My 9 month old was diagnosed with a middle ear infection. Without hesitation she said he needs antibiotics. I asked if they were absolutely necessary since the overwhelming consensus from the medical community is that babies 6 months and older typically don't need antibiotics for an ear infection because it typically goes away on its own within 48 hours. She simply said yes without providing a reason why. Long story short, the ear infection went away before the antibiotics could even be filled by the pharmacy. She also stated our child was bow legged and scheduled a follow up appointment with an orthopedic specialist within the same practice. The specialist basically told us our child is perfectly normal and that Dr. Seerattan has a habit of doing this type of thing. Basically it seems like this doctor is more concerned with making money for the practice than actually caring for our child.

I would not recommend her because of several negative experiences. Generally, I felt as though she didn't listen to me as the mother of her patient. She regularly dismissed my concerns and didn't fully or directly answer questions. Specifically, she choose not to examine my daughter who I was concerned for( while at a visit for a sibling). That child she choose not to see turned out to have pneumonia. Then, when she did see her , she didn't tell me the diagnosis of pneumonia. I only found o
