Dr Mermelstein is one of the most excellent doctors I have ever seen in my life I literally was with him from the time he graduated until this past year. He is no longer at Mayfair medical practices as he sold his practice to Jefferson and now is doing geriatric medicine only at a nursing home in Bucks County as well as is the Director at Meadowbrook. So he is not excepting new patients at Mayfair medical practices that is now under the care of Dr. Charyl Ovalle. None of his patients were notified by Jefferson or by Dr Mermelstein‘s office that he was leaving and they were getting a new doctor. I think he is wonderful as well as his twin brother Alan as physicians and his people but I was a bit disappointed in that. He also is not associated with Nazareth Hosp and does not have privileges there.

Does he not care anymore
Can no longer make get an appointment if you aren't feeling good well. No matter what the issue is. I need to see a doctor and I now have a 3 week wait. Been going to Dr. Mermelstein for over 30 years. They say not to tie up the er but I have no choice I'm now headed to the er for a huge bill that had I got an appointment to see Dr. Mermelstein sooner I would probably be feeling better already....someone explain how and when has this all changed and what are the rules?

Doesn't see sick patients
This is not a visit Review because we were turned away. We have been patients for over 40 years of Dr. Mermelstein. He has been taken over by Jefferson Hospital. We called about a sick visit and was told by staff that he no longer sees sick patients, nor does he call in perscriptions. The last two times I called there I was told to go to ER or Urgent Care. Well wouldn't it have been nice if he had actually sent out letters to his patients to make them aware of the fact that he only sees patients that are WELL ?? We will find another doctor - this was a betrayal on his part for all of his practice.
