Best in his field
Dr. Peters is the best in the business. He has treated me and both of my children for many years. He's extremely knowledgeable and knows exactly how to treat all conditions not to mention one of the nicest doctors around.

Excellent experience. I have been a patient of Dr. Peters for a couple of years and my last visit was a telehealth appointment due to the coronavirus pandemic. He was his usual pleasant, thorough and knowledgeable self. He made good recommendations and the treatment was successful. Very satisfied.

Recommended by my internist from Northwestern I saw Dr. Peters for a number of years seeking help for what I later found out was very serious condition. One of my other doctors Told me what they thought the diagnosis was... I asked repeatedly if Dr. Peters thought that this was my diagnosis. He told me it really did not matter what we called it as long as we just treated the lesions as it came up. He told me to " take a deep breath". What a sexist and disrespectful thing to say. I was getting nowhere and only getting worse facing surgery after surgery. I finally decided to look for a expert for my condition. At this point I had already progressed into stage 2 of the disease. I did call Peter's office and found out that he had in fact documented in my chart the diagnosis that I questioned. He failed to inform me and confirm my suspicion. The sad truth of the matter is that Dr. Peters was so uninformed and not capable of managing this condition. Sadly I paid the price for trusting.

I was the last patient. This was my first appointment with Dr. Peters. As soon as I walked in, I felt a very unfriendly atmosphere exhibited by a receptionist. I was ushered into the exam room. After the exam, the doctor wanted to perform a biopsy. I had to contact my insurance company to obtain authorization. The doctor and the nurse exhibited extreme impatience. They offered to come back even though the doctor suspected cancer. After the cancer diagnoses were confirmed, the doctor offered Mohs surgery. The surgery was going to be performed by another doctor from his office. I decided to seek a 2nd opinion. After that, I wanted to schedule the surgery. Despite several attempts to set up a date, my efforts failed. The scheduling nurse was not returning my calls. I lost several weeks. Eventually, I went to another doctor to have the surgery done.

The front desk staff is extremely rude and dismissive. There is an attitude oozing off them that you should be honored to even have an appointment time. And speaking of appointment times, this office shows no respect to others' schedules. They acknowledge this fairly openly ("we're always running behind schedule") and don't care. They'll also try to push products on you, making this place feel a bit like a medical spa as much as a doctor's office. If you have no choice but to deal with him, I suppose you have to do what you have to do. But in a city the size of Chicago, there are many more professional dermatology practices who can help.

When Dr. Peters walks into the room, he brings with him a sense of care, calmness, and expertise. I would argue he is one of the best Doctors in his field. He gives you what you need to know straight and has wonderful bedside manners. I've been going to Dr. Peters for at least 7 years and he always blows me away with knowledge and foresight. I appreciate how he explains conditions and treatments to his patients and he is fantastic educator. For a guy who is so busy, that is extremely respectable.
