Dr. Newsha Ghodsi, MD

Another doctor hearing my family history originally recommended Dr. Ghodsi to me. This was a lucky break because I really feel doctors know who the best doctors are. I feel that every part of my care has been carefully explained to me and that I have been listened to and my concerns are addressed. The best medical care is delivered when there is a partnership of trust established between the patient and doctor and this is what I have with Dr. Ghodsi. Her follow up on each part of my care has been meticulous and I can easily ask questions and get answers through mychart at mount sinai. This is medicine the way it should be practiced with both skill and empathy and I feel lucky to have found Dr. Ghodsi.

Difficult to get an appointment. Very full of herself. Not knowledgeable. Uncaring. Inept staff.

Dr. Ghodsi totally misdiagnosed my mother’s condition. I was alone with my mom shaken from the fact that she was admitted and had an infection going on. She came up and told me that my mother’s heart was damaged. Later on the cardiology team at mount Sinai told us that it was takotsubot( broken heart syndrome) and not a heart attack. The doctor caused me two days of extreme emotional distress . She has to work on her bedside manners and how to reassure patients rather than get some kind of perverse pleasure from giving them bad news. I will never forget the distress she caused me and my family. Stay away from this doctor.

Fantastic doctor!! Very thorough, explains everything well, always available to talk to you, and returns phone calls quickly. She is very conscientious and caring.

Dr Ghodsi is a caring and competent doctor who listens and explains your situation clearly and understandably.

Dr. Ghodsi diagnosed me to have a thoracic aortic aneurysm based on a stress test she administered on me. When I conveyed this to another Vascular Surgeon, I was told that a Chest, Abdominal, Pelvic CAT Scan was the best way to verify this diagnosis & next steps to take based on its size. The results totally contradicted her diagnosis, in that no thoracic aortic aneurysm was found. As you can imagine, I was shocked & appalled-Thanks for nothing Dr. Ghodsi!

On May17, 2017, I had a misfortune to visit.Dr.Ghodsi for the follow-up Apt..I wore a special boot,not recovered yet from the metatarsal fracture, feeling dizzy and weak after 2 months of terrible flu. I tried to explain it to Dr.Ghodzi , but she did not listen to me, answering numerous telephone calls. She behaved in extremely unfriendly and rude manner, causing my blood pressure to elevate very high. Echo cardiogram which she did not want to do, showed the presence of fluid around my heart.

I think she the sweetest doctor ever. Very thorough and very down to earth.

She makes my blood pressure go up when I see her. Abrupt, has little time for answering questions. Keeps to her 15 minutes/patient. No bedside manner whatsoever.
