Repeat patient
I have been a patient of Dr. Okoro twice now, 9 years apart, for both colonoscopy and endoscopy, and her standard of care was excellent on both occasions. She was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and answered thoroughly my several questions. I tend to get nervous with treatments such as these, and Dr. Okoro not only recognized my anxiety, but also went out of her way to help me feel at ease. Dr. Okoro cares about her patients, and it shows.

Like many other reviewers, I had a terrible experience with Dr. Okoro. She was condescending, authoritative, and dismissive. None of the traits that you would hope for when seeking care. Trying to get her to provide substantive answers to my questions was like pulling teeth. It was so bad that I walked out of the appointment. On top of that, I waited almost 2 hours to be seen without any apology from her. Do yourself a favor and find someone who cares. The staff at the front desk, on the other hand, were very friendly and helpful.

Incompetent. Uncaring. Negligent.
Dr. Okoro dislocated my jaw during an endoscopic exam, and she never took responsibility for her mistake. She left it to my family to find and arrange for maxillofacial surgery to repair my jaw after six days of nightmarish suffering.

Will not return
The practise seems a bit (too) busy with patients being shuffled around like people just being moved through the motions. Even with all the activity, the STAFF were excellent - professional, kind, patient, helpful, and informative -and I would give them 5 stars easily. Dr. Okuro, however, treated me with complete dismissal and condescension. I realise that there were many of us patients (maybe schedule fewer per day) and only one of her, but as the anesthetist herself said: this is their everyday work, but it isn’t for us. And the few, reasonable questions I had post-op did not merit the brusqueness they received.

I've been treated by DR. Okoro for several months now. I hadn't eaten fruits, vegetables, or nuts since I was nine years old, because I would vomit them back up. I'm able to eat these things now. While she did give me a had time for waiting until I turned 52 to be concerned, she has changed my life in a matter of months. I am grateful for the service. The office is always clean. Staff is very helpful and informative. Dr Okoro knows her stuff! She is awesome!!!

Dr. Okoro gets a 5-star and "Top Doc" rating from me! She has taken excellent care of my digestive system health and my peace of mind, as well, over the years. So meticulous and caring in her work---doing it with positivity, style and a big smile, that I always leave with a smile on my face! Her contagious spirit radiates throughout the office, and she has wonderfully warm and attentive personal nurses, and staff support system.

Dr. Okoro has been my doctor for one year and I'm very impressed with her professionalism and attentiveness to my needs. When it comes to reviews for things such as this or even fast food establishments, we oftentimes hear about the negatives. I wanted to take a moment to recognize the positivity in my experience. Dr. Okoro always asks for feedback regarding treatment and actively listens to all questions and concerns. Let me also mention the staff at Atlanta Gastro from the reception staff to support staff (Cheryl and Fran) have also been very helpful and need to recognized. She is always professional and well dressed as other reviews have mentioned. During my procedure last year, she calmed my fears and explained everything that was happening. As long as Dr. Okoro is still practicing no matter where she is, she will always have me as her patient. Much respect and appreciation.

Dr. Okoro has been a blessing to my health. I had an issue for two years and in one visit she recommended a remedy to help with the pain and ordered the right scans to see what was going on. She offered clear next steps and encouraged me to be an advocate for my health. She was very patient and truly made me feel like she cares about my health overall. She referred me to physicians that she trusted to provide the same level of care. I have recommended her to family and friends who may be in need. Again, she has been a true blessing to my health.
