Dr. Nicholas Spirtos, DO

After trying several different clinics the last couple of years, we came across Dr Spirtos online, and I’m so grateful we did. I cannot say enough good about his practice, him as a person, and especially him as a doctor. I’ve never had a doctor I’ve trusted so completely as I do Dr Spirtos. He is extremely passionate about what he does and unbelievably knowledgeable. He genuinely cares about your journey and his goal is your goal - to make you a parent in the most affordable means possible.When we initially saw him, he ran so many tests that had never been done before, giving us more direction than we ever thought possible. We never felt pressured into doing anything that wasn’t absolutely necessary and we actually spent a substantial amount less here than we did anywhere else.The office staff is incredible and treat you like family. I cannot say enough good about this practice!We’re now 20 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby and I have Dr Spirtos to thank for that.

After achieving a successful pregnancy after 7 years of receiving treatment at Cleveland clinic our gynecologist referred to dr Spirtos for our 2 nd child. At first I thought dr Spirtos to be very arrogant. He told us I would be pregnant in 3 cycles and I would have multiples. I later realized that he wasn’t arrogant he just knew his stuff. We did get pregnant in our third cycle and had triplets! We were in shock. After a fairly uneventful pregnancy the babies were born at 35 weeks and were healthy. He and his staff are very caring and make you feel at ease. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing fertility treatment. He is definitely the best of the best!

Nick (as he was known by staff at Wayne State Univ. clinic) Spirtos when I was at the infertility clinic in 1983-1984. He was one of the most meticulous and attentive doctors I have ever known. I was pleased to tell my daughter who was born in 1984, that he was the best.

Dr. Spirtos is extremely knowledgeable and caring, and his staff is amazing! Dr. Spirtos fully commits to this amazing journey, and we were fortunate enough to have a great outcome! Thank you!

My journey did not end with a happy ending. As for my experience for being his patient for over 5 years I have never had a problem with his bed side manners. He will not sugar coat anything so if that is what you want in a doctor then you may not like him. As far as him being caring or not caring he showed me his caring side but in his own way. My husband and I spent a lot of money but you will have to pay a lot of money no matter where you go. He has on occasions said things to me that touched a nerve here and there but I knew his heart was in the right place. I also remember after I had a tubal pregnancy he asked me multiple times if I was mad at him. I was never mad at him bc it wasn’t his fault. He tried his hardest to help my husband and I get our baby. The only thing I wish is that I had answers on what is wrong with me and why I can’t get pregnant?

I sort of liked Dr. Spiritos quirky personality and his love for his Greek heritage. I didn't mind that he was straight-forward. However, I can only conclude he is in it for the money even though he claims to be "affordable." They make you come in multiple days in a row for appointments so you keep having to pay your co-pay each day, and he collects the insurance money for separate visits. He said that trying to get pregnant would be a waste of time because my wife had "bad eggs." However, he took our money and tried artificial insemination. Another physician I told this to was baffled that he tried artificial insemination without the use of Clomid. He said the only way for us to have children would be through an egg donor. An egg donor pregancy costs approximately $30,000. On top of that, you're not even guaranteed a successful pregnancy! He never gave us a prescription for Clomid pills. I could only surmise that this is the case because he doesn't get anything out of it.

My daughter is now 30 years old. Dr. Spirtos was able to help me achieve my pregnancy with insemination being diagnosed with PCOS and husband who had a vasectomy reversed with low sperm count. My experience 30 years ago was a positive one. I think you’re vulnerable when you go through infertility treatment, hormones on high. You have to realize there are many different personalities out there in the world. I found Dr. Spirtos to have a dry sense of humor which made my experience much easier to endure. When dealing with a “scientist” you have to remember they deal with facts and numbers and strategies. There isn’t always room for warm and fuzzy when their minds are constantly in thought. I appreciated that about Dr. Spirtos and was grateful for his expertise all those years ago.

Dr. Spirtos is amazing. After 3 failed inseminations &1 failed IVF w/another dr in Akron, Dr. Spirtos got me pregnant with my first son, then my 2nd. My 1st is almost 15 yrs old. #2 is 9 yrs. Spirtos is incredible. Takes you on like you are family. I truly love this man. IVF 9x total. Worth every penny. Spirtos is my hero. I love the man. If you want a family, go to Spirtos. The others are sub-par, in my opinion. I am an RN, and I know when I know a great physician.

Do not be expected to be treated like a human being. To Dr. Spirtos it is your privilege to have him get you pregnant. Never question his decision making or choices in your care. When I miscarried, I was told "you can see there is no heartbeat. get dressed and come to my office and we will schedule your D+C." AVOID this doctor. You have so many better choices in Akron.

No thanks. His bedside manner leaves you wondering why he went into the profession. As Mr. Wonderful says on shark tank MONEY!!!

I love Dr. Spirtos!! He always takes time with the patient. You will never feel rushed!! The staff is amazing!! Sandra answers all of your questions and always has a smile on her face. It's nice going to an office knowing your getting the best care possible.

Dr. Spirtos was caring, respectful, efficient, and very good at his job, thankfully. He was thorough in his exams, testing, and explanation of reasons for doing them. He made me feel like an individual, not another name or dollar. I really liked that his office is small-the continuity of seeing the same staff each visit was comforting. Every one of them was helpful, personal, and friendly, which I believe to be extremely important when going through something as difficult as infertility.

Dr. Spirtos is very knowledgeable. I have seen 4 Reproductive Endocrinologists and he is the only one to get me pregnant on the first try.

He's the best. Don't go anywhere else but here.
