Appointment was a waste of time it was about a 5 minute appointment. I feel like the doctor and his assistant didn’t listen. He basically tried to sum it up to me just having a sore throat. I’m not a doctor myself but I know that it’s not just a sore throat. After reading the other reviews I think I’m better off seeing someone else anyway based on their experiences with him. No wonder it was so easy to get an appointment with him.

Terrible doctor!
This doctor allowed for my son’s mother to proceed with a surgical procedure on my son without talking to me and explaining to me reasoning behind it.

Cochlear Implant
Dr Stowell provided us with incorrect information prior to my procedure. Afterwards he just told us there was nothing else he could do. Went to Duke to have an additional implant. They told us it was the worse implant surgery they had ever seen.

10/10 do not recommend
He spent about 3 minutes with my son and decided what he thought was wrong. We had the surgery and his follow up was extremely poor. The worst part was that his nursing staff was even more dismissive than he was. When I called to explain my son was having pain I was told all children “think they have pain”. I wish I would have known how awful my experience would be and I would have immediately driven much further to a different location.

Amazing
Dr. Stowell is the best! I recommend everyone to him! He preformed my sinus surgery. I was miserable for 6 months. I saw many doctors and none of them could help. In two visits Dr. Stowell had a plan of action! He was/is amazing through the entire process!! His pre and post operative care is awesome. I feel better than ever! I can breathe and my energy came back! I no longer need my inhaler and my smell is returning! If you are looking for a doctor that provides impeccable care and listens, choose Dr. Stowell!

Horrible experience!!!!
Lack of empathy from Doc. I have been a patient here for years and have never had such a horrible experience as I did today. I will never ever see this doctor again. He has a very condescending attitude and after being sick for over 2 weeks he wanted me to stick it out for 2-4 more weeks without prescribing an antibiotic. I explained all the things I had been doing and nothing had worked and he was still not willing to provide an antibiotic as an option. Never again!

One of the worst doctors. He rushes you and he maybe spends 5 minutes with. He doesn’t hear anything you say to him. I tried to give some grace after the first appointment, tried his solutions…months later at a follow up I told him I was still having severe sinus issues. He prescribed another pill and said to follow up in a year! Ridiculous! Doesn’t even want to help his patients resolve their problems. Very dismissive and arrogant. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to him. The staff at the office are also very rude. Over a year of trying his “solutions” with no improvement. Finally went to another provider who actually listened and Is getting me what I needed to start living normally again.

He prescribed a very large amount of Ibuprofen daily to which he was questioned about the amount. He didn't address the questions about the side effects this much would cause. Long story short, I ended up in the hospital as my primary dr thought I was having a heart attack. Turns out I had an ulcer due to the large amount of Ibuprofen I was told to take.

We were very disappointed in this provider. He should NOT be in pediatric, extremely cocky and belittles everything you say. My husband and I brought our son in for tonsillitis after being referred by his pediatrician, he does not know how to interact with children. Our son is 3, a toddler... he needs to only see adult patients. He was so unbelievably rude. When you come at anyone without saying so much as 2 words and huffing and puffing because a THREE YEAR OLD is squirming and my husband and I are trying our best to assist in letting him get throat culture, do us a favor and please do not see peds pts! It was pitiful, when we arrived to office our son was not feeling well, have a little compassion or do not be a physician. And also think about people are coming to see you for opinion in their health and well being not to be lectured and belittled. Being in the medical field myself this was terrible service and we should have went with our gut and this physicians reviews.

I was able to get a same day appointment and this was red flag number one. I read the reviews on him, went against my gut and still went to the appointment. I should have followed my intuition. I was so desperate because my allergies are at an all time high this year and I just wanted some relief. Instead of getting relief I got a bigger headache. Not only was Dr. Stowell disinterested in my problems (he sat down at the table with his hand on his head), he was dismissive and unhelpful. He wanted me to continue to take over the counter meds. When I expressed to him that nothing over the counter was working, he insisted I continue to use it. I asked him to write a prescription for an antihistamine, he insulted my intelligence by telling me that there is no prescription antihistamine. Then he went on to say that I don't have allergies because my eyes weren't itchy, despite having other symptoms. If I could rate him a zero, I would. Please take heed and don't let Stowell waste your time!

Dr. Stowell was very personable, attentive, and thorough. He took the time to listen and completely examine so that he was able to take care of everything at one time. He did an amazing job showing and explaining the "whys" behind his diagnosis and his recommendations.

Great experience! Listened, answered all my questions and worked with me to address my sinus and allergy problems. Re-arranged his schedule to do a sinus procedure which corrected issues which had been getting increasingly worse over the years. I will continue going to him and would highly recommend Dr. Stowell.
