Better Choices
Office staff has gone down hill. Can’t get anyone to answer a phone. Scheduling is difficult. Prescriptions don’t get renewed timely and the office seems to be incapable of getting necessary drugs approved through insurance. My spouse and I are on a couple of the same meds yet when this office submits they are deemed not covered yet spouse with a different doctor gets approved. A week ago I tried to schedule an appointment and was told they had too many patients and were releasing me. Good news as I had begun to search for new doctor but as I am heading to surgery’s and need pcp tests and sign off not so timely. They stated they sent a letter notifying me about release…two weeks since the date the stated and I still have not received a letter. More evidence of why I’m glad to be moving on from this office. Btw I did find a pcp who took me in quickly and fast tracked all tests to meet surgery deadlines

Outstanding. Caring, kind, worth far more than pay
Dr Shah called me long distance personally to see if I could let my sweet parents come live with me in St Petersburg, Fl. They were not getting the treatment they deserved from my sister there in Dunnellon. I will forever be grateful to him as I was able to keep my parents happy and alive for 5 years after I got them despite the very poor health they came to me with. Dr Shah knew my parents needed better care and I was so thrilled to be able to get them finally even though I had been trying for many years even though both were very sick. With 24 hours a day seven days a week care they lived longer and around family and friends both seemed extremely happy. Thank you Dr Shah.

Dr. Shah is very professional and seeks to help me get the best care for my medical needs! He never rushes my appt. Sends me to additional medical facilities if needed! His concerns have proven to have kept me from what could have been a major health issue if not caught early! Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful! I would recommend Dr Shah to friends and family! Sherry Yarosh

My husband and I are new to town and we were looking for a new primary care physician and after looking at some reviews we chose Dr. Shah. We couldn’t be more happy with our decision. He is very caring and thorough. His staff is very kind and the overall feeling of the office is really pleasant. So happy we found them.

I have been with this Doctor for over 5 years and was never able to control my diabetes, if I had a severe back pain he would just tell me to take one 2 advil, this doctor will not prescribe anything for you because his medical knowledge is very limited. I suffered from sleepless nights and the best he could do was TRAZADONE 150mg. Do yourself a favor and do not make this doctor your primary physician because he will send you all over ocala to see real doctors. I was just too comfortable with Dr Shah , but damn I'm glad I left that "medical office" and if you have covid forget about it, out and out... EMERGENCY ROOM EMERGENCY ROOM and EMERGENCY ROOM. I asked my self can someone with this little medical knowledge be a Doctor for real? He is a nice little guy, great personality until you contradict him, then He becomes the nasty troll that he truly is. No medical knowledge at all. Run !! "Family medicine specialist" dont believe that, it's a lie.

I have been a patient for 20+ years…..Dr Shah enters the room with test results that he has already reviewed and compared to prior test and illnesses. He listens and explains everything and respects your opinion. His staff is the best, they work very hard and are very knowledgeable in addition to having a great sense of humor.

I did not have a good experience here. The facility is like stepping back in time because the weight scale was literally from the 70s. Even the vet I take my dogs to has more updated equipment than this office I went in to have my blood test done because of extreme weakness and fatigue getting worse over years. After my blood test results came back they told me the DR said I needed to check myself into the ER ASAP! Because my hemoglobin was at level 7. I was in shock and really did not understand this and did not feel like I NEEDED to go to hospital ASAP. After $6500 and pointless ER visit (No blood transfusion cuz not low enough hemoglobin, no IV given, released after 4 hrs) talked to them again over a week later because I had to call them and then they FINALLY tell me I need to go to a hematologist. I asked for referral, they had none. I also wanted a DNR since I was already there and doctor signatures are required for DNRs. But he said NO he would not give me one.

I last saw Dr. Shah 3/2019--I received a call from his office in June of this year wanting to know if everything was ok or if I needed any thing. Told his nurse no and she thanked me for taking the call. In Sept. of this year I received my monthly review from Humana and found that his office charged my insurance for the call. They called it a chronic care call??? Humana said they charge to call to see if you are ok and that is it. It is not wrong to do so since they said I signed up to do that??? Just to let people know why they do not get prescriptions for more than 30 days from this doctor (to get office visit money each time you need refills) also his office get paid each time they call you to see if all is ok when they do nothing but talk to you. I do not use this doctor any longer and my new doctor gives me prescriptions for more than 30 days and they told me if I need anything to call them and they would not use his tactics.

Don't go to this doctor. His office staff is horrible and the waiting area smells of urine. They are little about the values of their patient's time and issues. This place is all about the dollar coming in and nothing more.

Dr Shah is quick to fit us in when there is an urgent need. If there is a condition that is needing the care of a specialist, he is great for getting a quick referral to a top notch specialist.
