Best Doctor I've Ever Seen
I have been seeing Dr. Vora for approximately 5 years, and she has helped me transform my life. I have been seeing psychiatrists for 25 years, and Dr. Vora is the only doctor that truly helped me. She possesses all the qualities one would want from a doctor, she is caring, attentive to what I say, and provides with both realistic goals and practical feedback. Most psychiatrists will book 10 minute sessions to review medication; my appts with Dr. Vora typically last nearly an hour, and we fully discuss all aspects that may impact what medication and what dosage she should prescribe. It is more of a therapy session than just seeing a psychiatrist. When I first saw Dr. Vora, I was so depressed I could hardly hold a job, much less a relationship or consider long-term goals. Now, years later, I have held the same fantastic job for 4 years, am engaged to be married to the love of my life, and we are in the process of buying our first home. Dr. Vora saved me from myself. She's the best.

Made wrong recommendations.
Agree with other reviews. Good at prescribing medication. Very intrusive with her opinions. recommended ECT after not responding to medication’s even though trauma was at the root of my depression. Surprisingly did not recommend EMDR or any trauma based therapies, just insisted on ECT.

I had to switch providers due to how judgmental Dr. Vora came across. Although she prescribed me medication, I felt uncomfortable and upset after each appointment. I went to Dr. Vora while struggling with depression and she told me I needed to shape up and get my life together because my future kids would not want a mother like me. I am in my early 20s trying to help myself, that's not something you want to hear during your first visit. Especially since I had never mentioned having kids or being a mother to her. That is only one example of her consistently making me feel less than while I was extremely down. Do not waste your time, energy or money - choose a different provider.

Aside from prescribing medication, Dr Vora set goals for me to achieve. She has asked me how well I achieved the goals. Dr Vora never pressured me if I did not totally comply, but rather she offered encouragement. At times she would add other goals to to increase my participation in everyday life.

I have been seeing Dr. Vora for about a year and she has been one of the most open and understanding psychiatrist I have had in my 20 years of visiting doctors. She has been wonderful to talk to and doesn't over prescribe unneeded medicines and values holistic therapeutic methods.
