Dr. Nimisha Shah, MD

She acts like she cares but she really doesn’t. I was super upset about something and the person who answered the phone said she was typing what I was saying so she could forward to her. I never got a call back nor a email. I still am shocked. I knew when she asked if I saw Dr. K I shouldHave ran out the door. Dr. Shah solution to loosing weight is to eat fish, lots of vegetables and grains. Sadly, that doesn’t always work. I will never go to her, ever…

She is the worst doctor I have the misfortune of having an appointment with. The minute she enters the exam room, the first words out of her mouth are, 'Oh I have a plane to catch in 10 minutes so I can only spare 10 minutes for you. It left a very bad taste in my mouth because I could sense her practice was not about helping patients in need but more about packing them sardines, in order to make as much as she can from the patient and the insurance. I would never ever go back to her as a patient and would highly that if someone is looking for compassionate quality where the doctor is not out there just to milk you. Please look for some other medical practitioner.

I left another review a few weeks ago but I’m doing so again, because I may be getting a diagnosis I brought to her attention when I first came to her for help. She swept it under the rug and told me it was anxiety. I went to her for multiple weeks for help and left her office in tears. Within two weeks at a new doctor I’ve now been referred out for proper care and as much as I amNot thrilled with my possible diagnoses, finally someone is telling me that it isn’t anxiety. I was feeling like I was crazy every time I went to Dr nimisha. If you have something serious going on please look elsewhere for a doctor.

Admin has doubled billed me more than once and argued vehemently after an hour long conversation proving that I was right. I suspect she is pocketing the difference but I can't prove that it wasn't a mistake. I'm going somewhere else now to avoid these headaches. I suggest you do the same.

I felt rushed and that my questions either weren't taken seriously or not answered satisfactory.

Easy to get appointment, but always felt rushed and surface level, clean waiting room.

No one was masked properly and there was no social distancing in the waiting room. They receptionist made me wait so long that I just left because I didn't feel comfortable there.

Nimisha ordered a blood test for me but didn't explain why I needed it. I went to Quest only to find out that I needed to have fasted (which was never explained to me). So I went back the next day only to find out that her office gave them the wong insurance (which they don't take). I gave Quest my new insurance but they didn't believe they accepted it (they did). I tried to call the doctor's office so they could verify my information but no one answered (an on-going problem). When I told the doctor about my troubles she just flatly said "Bummer." No sign of empathy or apology for causing me unnecessary trouble due to her and her staff's poor communication. I'll be going to another doctor and another lab in the future.

I have been going to Dr Shah for several years. She has always been professional, informative, interested, and works with me. Never pushes medication./drugs. Several of my family and neighbors now go to her or her husband and all seem very pleased. She gets a five star from me.

Dr. Shah is very knowledgeable and has been able to explain to me every aspect of my condition in both a cogent and patient manner. I would without any doubt recommend her; in a New York minute! ~M. E. Lopez

I went in last Year 4/17 to get a typhoid shot. The doctors office made me pay up front $125 and said that insurance will reimburse me. I filed with insurance who agreed the shot is covered however insurance said the doctors were not supposed to charge me up front. After many letters and calls requesting a refund from both me and my insurance, no response. The kicker is that my insurance told me the doctors tried to file a claim to get that money too, essentially trying to double dip!
