Dr. Nina Levenda, MD

If I could leave a 0 star I would. I was transferred by ambulance to lutheran in ft Wayne from bluffton er. Dr inn er spoke to dr levenda personally and she insured him she would do emergency surgery as soon as I arrived to lutheran to try to save my ovary because I had ovarian torsion and was in extreme pain. Got to ft Wayne lutheran er about 5pm and waited. After 8 or whenever I saw her she claimed nobody told her I was there. She kept making excuses why she couldn't take me to surgery, blamed everyone but herself why I was not taken to surgery, lied in my medical records, claims I was not in any pain, never evaluated me personally in the er, right my health issues were funny and could wait, wanted to take my ovary even if she could save it just because she would be in my stomach already, never helped my pain and had a smirk on her face until I finally went off on her. I asked her to call another surgeon or transfer me to anther hospital. She refused. Worst dr ever

I've never left a review like this but I was seeing Dr. Levenda for years and honestly just kept giving her the benefit of the doubt. I learned, through diagnostics she ordered that I was infertile (I've always wanted to be a mother so this was devastating) and crying in her office made me feel worse as she made me feel like my feelings inconvenienced her day. Very little sympathy. Later I was able to get pregnant but ended up miscarrying. This was the straw that broke the camel's back for me...she acted like it was no big deal and even said people have miscarriages everyday (as if mine didn't matter) and sent me with a pill and no explanations of the true horror I would experience at home (trigger warning: threw up all over myself for hours on the toilet bleeding with the worst back 'labor' and contractions). Mind you I was never warned or given any pain or nausea medication either. I don't know how she can practice at a women's clinic with no sympathy for women.

It took me over 4 years to write this review for fear of being further shamed by the community, however, women need to hear the truth about this woman. I am a large patient. I went to Woman's Health Advantage for a blood test to confirm a positive result on a home test and was then assigned to Dr. Lavenda. At the first appointment she didn't say a word about the ultrasound or how the pregnancy was. She spent the whole appointment badgering me about my weight and how neither I, nor my baby would survive the birth and how I was going to lose the pregnancy anyway. I left that appointment in tears and felt like she was trying to fat shame and bully me into terminating my pregnancy because of my weight. Being big, I have had a lot of bad experiences with Dr's treating me poorly but this was the ABSOLUTE WORST experience I have had with a doctor. I have a healthy 4 year old. We both survived just fine.

I ended up switching to a different provider midway through my pregnancy. She was very rude and condescending at every appointment; even with standard first time pregnancy questions and always rushed through after already being late. At my last appointment, she stormed out of the room without telling me anything about the glucose testing I was supposed to receive the following visit. Then when I reminded her about it and asked if I needed to do anything to prepare, she got snarky. I told her several times I needed to deliver at Parkview due to my insurance and she made it out to be a big problem. She badmouthed them repeatedly to try to coerce me into delivering at DuPont or Lutheran, even though other Women’s Health Advantage physicians deliver at Parkview without issue. While I do not doubt her competency or knowledge, her behavior is simply not worth the $250 a visit my insurance gets billed. Some may find her “blunt” demeanor cute and endearing but I am not impressed.

History of being rude and irritable when asked any type of basic "follow up with your doctor" question. Always late and rushed through visits so I left each one feeling ill-informed. Consistently implied that delivering at my hospital of choice was going to be problematic despite it being one of the hospitals the practice regularly delivers at and having others deliver at this hospital with no issues. Decided to switch to a different practice and provider over halfway through pregnancy and received much better care and treatment.

Dr. Levenda was the on call physician when I was experiencing a TERRIBLE headache from high blood pressure due to pre-eclampsia. My heart rate was elevated and she stormed into the room as I was simply laying on my left side and trying to breathe through the pain. She yelled at me to "calm down" and informed me that if I didn't get myself under control she would have to do her 4th c-section that night and she wasn't in the mood. It was insane. I could barely lift my head to look at her or respond and she treated me like I was throwing a tantrum. Even my nurses were appalled. Then she sent someone in to...I couldn't make this up... tell me to listen to music I liked. I am so grateful that she wasn't my actual doctor.

Dr. Levenda ended up being the on call nurse when my water broke. She was very good with communication & very kind. She did an amazing job with my delivery & was very supportive through yet it. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Dr Levenda was the on call doctor when I delivered. She was rude and extremely disrespectful of my wishes. VERY pushy! We had to tell her no MULTIPLE times about getting an epidural, about breaking my water, and about doing an episiotomy(none were medically necessary). When I delivered all the nurses cheered and congratulated me on doing it without the epidural and my husband actually saw her look up and roll her eyes! For reference this was my first and he was born 5.5hrs after I arrived.

She is always so personable. I love that she is open to discussing options available.

She spent hardly any time with me and when I voiced concerns about a particular medication she was very rude about my questions.
