a bit uncomfortable talking to him
My experience with him was like some of the other reviewers: invalidating. For context, I am a neurodivergent woman that was diagnosed later with a condition that he kept insisting I didn't have regardless of the information I tried to provide. It felt very much like once he had an idea of what is going on, he ignores everything else. He insisted that I have anxiety (which may be true and is also the common problem for neurodivergent women seeking a diagnosis or referral for one) but kept ignoring what I said for other conditions

Unhelpful
Dismissive, did not take the time to understand my symptoms and asked unrelated questions. Felt worse after talking to him, the first review on this page is accurate where it seemed like he was condescending and invalidating.

I have been under the care of Dr. Sagar for four years. I am confident in his treatment and I feel he has helped me make great progress in my mental health and medication maintenance. I feel the telemedicine is just as effective with him as an in person visit.

He has really helped me through a rough time. I deal with depression almost on a daily basis so when it came to having a kid I knew I needed help and now it’s been mainly happiness in my household.

Dr. Sagar is simply one of the best. He is extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and truly listens to patient needs, what more could you want in a doctor? I never felt rushed out the door like so many other doctors. I trusted his opinion and felt truly cared for. My health has improved and so glad I am under his care.

I have been seeing Dr. Sagar for 3 years now for my anxiety and now depression. He is very knowledgeable in psychiatry and listens to your concerns. He does his best to get patients in for urgent visits, and or calls to check up on them. I always feel comfortable at all the visits and not nervous or on the edge. I would highly recommend Dr. Sagar if you’re in search for a new psychiatrist for medication management or even as a first time visit of seeing a psychiatrist.

He's very knowledgeable on my prescriptions and their uses. He's A great Dr. and just an all around great man! I always trust his opinions.

Dr. Sagar knows his stuff and is quick to identify which meds could alleviate a particular symptom. He also takes into account my level of comfort with adding or changing medication regimen and doesn't pressure or push. He allows me to take my time and decide what fits me and my lifestyle best.

He did not validate or even respond when I described my symptoms and personal history. Instead he interrupted me again and again to tell me how the medication I was on would do horrible things to my body: heart attacks in my 40’s, psychosis, etc. It felt like an interrogation. There was a lofty authoritarian tone about the whole thing. As I got emotional and upset he claimed this was evidence of how the medication was making me irrational. He did this again and again, cutting me off midsentence as I told him about my painful childhood, until I broke down crying. I told him I was incredibly hurt by the way he had treated me. I told him I did not care if I was on medication or not and that if it was dangerous he should just take me off it. He apologized, prescribe me the medication, then referred me to someone else. Left me absolutely terrified, totally confused and an emotional mess. I have never been treated like this before. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

At our last visit my companion verbalized to the admitting nurse wanting to self harm. I also mentioned this at the visit. I am concerned that this was not addressed. No one asked if he had a plan, were there guns/meds in the home (there are.) His coping skill is to joke his way through visits which he achieved successfully. He has also told me of severe child and adult abuse not discussed. As his caregiver I see a totally different person every day. I am concerned about these statements.

My experience with doctor Sagar was very good. The first appointment as a patient was very intimidating. (your are seeing a psychiatrist!! ) He was not judgmental, perhaps using the computer a little more than I was expecting on the first visit. Doctor Sagar did make me feel comfortable enough to open up. We agreed on some way to help me, medication was prescribed. I followed Doctor Sagar plan on medication. On the follow up I felt comfortable discussing medication with him.

Getting our son diagnosed was one of the scariest decisions of our lives. Dr. Sagar's professionalism, caring demeanor, and expertise put me at ease. Many families struggle with finding the right medicine for their child. Dr. Sagar was able to prescribe the right dosage/type on the first try. He is a doctor who truly cares about his patients rather than one who pushes medication for an easy fix. I would highly recommend his practice. We feel blessed that our son is under his care.

Dr. Sagar is by far the worst doctor I have ever seen. He constantly invalidated my feelings, made me feel like I was inferior to him, and spoke to me in a very condescending manner. He spoke to me as if I couldn't possibly be as intelligent as him, and he wanted me to accept his word as fact without questioning. The one time I did question him, and suggested that maybe I have another disorder, he accused me of being a drug seeker. BEWARE! The staff in his office, however were always pleasant.
