Dr. Nischala Ammannagari, MD

No one wants to be diagnosed with cancer, but if you have to go through this ordeal, do it with Dr. Ammanagari. After my first visit she called me on her way home from work to ask if I might like to connect with another patient of hers with a similar diagnosis, to make me feel better. She seemed as excited when I finished chemotherapy as I was. She’s thorough, competent, and explains everything clearly but thoroughly, while also making me feel like she genuinely cares about how I’m doing. Cancer is a long term diagnosis, and I am genuinely glad she will be in my life for a long time. She’s just a good person, and a highly competent oncologist. When you say you’re seeing her every nurse at the center responds with “oh she is wonderful!” so it’s not just her patients who love her, her colleagues do too.

I was diagnosed with Lymphoma after going to my primary for a stomach ache and then seeing Dr. Ammannagari. I am very grateful to DrA for her caring and detailed explanation of my diagnosis as well as her knowledge and keeping up with current medical information regarding cancer. DrA is extremely positive and knowledgeable about the state of the art treatment and care available to cancer patients. I was hesitant to seek such important and life dependent treatment in “upstate” NY before meeting Dr. Ammannnagari. I was set to travel into Manhattan/Sloan Kettering and now I thank GOD for DrA and the expertise that she provides here locally! I and am truly blessed to have been given such an expert in the field to treat me during my journey through cancer treatment. I highly recommend Dr. Ammannagari She is #1 in the field and we are lucky to have such experience and expertise here, locally, and accessible.
