Abrupt, Dismissive of my past medical history
Beginning of appointment Dr was scrolling thru Penn computer. Twice she said she couldn’t see me. First bc of a rheumatologist I saw 10+ yrs ago and secondly, because a rheumatology group followed me when I was impatient at Penn. I explain to her I came to her because I thought she was a Sjogren’s specialist. Dr then went on to tell me I did not have Sjogren’s she had no evidence of it. And the lab tests I have do not indicate Sjogren’s. She seemed dismissive throughout the visit. Very uncomfortable setting with a health care professional. I was diagnosed with Sjogren’s in 2013 and SLE Lupus in 2017. I mentioned my current L hip pain and history of tendon tears she actually said this is very common with people my size. My wgt. 220lbs and 5’6.5 I explained to her frequently hospitalized (8 times since 2020) with lung infections and GI infections. I am on daily steroids and when I am sick the dosage is steroid can go to 125 mg IV. This has changed my weight. Not returning.

Dr. Sandorfi was quite dismissive of me and my symptoms. I explained my symptoms and that I had been suffering for months. She came to the conclusion that it was all in my head and needed to see a psychiatrist. I visited a competent doctor a month later and was told I had Wegener’s Granulomatosis with kidney involvement.

Although I have only seen Dr. Sandorfi twice, I feel like I have known her for years! She has a great warm, caring manner, combined with obvious knowledge and expertise and an ability to extract important diagnostic information. Admittedly, I am a complex patient and she is clearly working hard to figure me out to help. She spends quality time and is a good listener. My only regret is that I did not come to her sooner! I appreciate her time and effort.

Her waiting room times can run long, but she's totally worth it. She listens and genuinely cares about her patients. I started seeing her a few years ago, and in that time she has configured a treatment that has put me into remission from RA and has spoken up to insurance companies when they tried to deny treatment. She fights for her patients and wants the best. She really is a great doctor/person! (Just bring a book for the waiting room) I would definitely recommend her to my family and friends

At first doctor Sandorfi showed interest in my health needs. In 2014 I spoke with her on new symptoms she would act extremely agitated, took no interest in helping me. In March of 2016 I started having extreme flares from joints, muscles, headaches, lupus problems. Her reply back to me was to see a therapist and while i'm at it see a psychiatrist, it was past time for me to see some one else.

I waited 6 weeks for an appointment. When calling to schedule, I was told there were other rheumatologists I could see sooner. My guardian angel (yes, I believe!) urged me to wait for Dr. Sandorfi. I was certainly not disappointed for waiting. She was extremely accommodating with me, explained in detail the results of tests and X-rays done at the PennMedicine lab in my neighborhood and laid out what to do in the future. She laid out a plan of treatment and scheduled a return appointment.
