Dr. Malik is excellent
Dr. Malik is the best pain doctor I have ever been to. And I have several issues with my spine-- and arthritis in both my spine and my knees. His office staff has always gone above and beyond for me too-- especially Angie! I highly recommend Renner Pain and Spine. Wish I could give it more than 5 stars.

Professional incompetence
My wife has Parkinson's disease and needed a refill for duloxetine. I texted the pharmacy on Nov 11. After no response I called the pharmacy and Dr Malik's office on Nov 15. I called both again on the 20 and on the 22 at which point my wife was out of the med and needed to prevent pain that lasts 24 hours a day. I was irritated after calling the Dr's office 3 x's over a 7 day span and always getting the same answer, 'I will let the DR know.' I said 1 curse word and the office told the pharmacy the Dr was releasing my wife as a patient. 7 days, 3 calls from me, 2 from the pharmacy over 144 hours and they can't get her meds refilled, but 1 curse word and she gets released from his care and no refill on a medication that is NOT to be discontinued except as a step down. My wife was in pain 24 hours a day for over 3 years until I solved her pain issue. Dr Malik and his staff were irresponsible in this matter even after we had talked to him about having a refill problem on another visit.

Exceptional Level Of Care
The personalized care from Dr. Malik and his staff is beyond words. His own level of medical expertise and patient approach is unique and valuable. I have suffered from chronic back pain in the lower, mid and cervical area. I have found Dr. Malik to be the best in care I have ever received for my spine.

Dr Malik came off as helpful. He was very likable at first. Then, he refused to give my husband medication that he has been on since 2013, until he finished up some tests. This unfortunately, sent him into a cardiac event. He was in such pain the ER doctor was in amazement. Dr. Malik said he felt Ed should have got them done sooner. The doctor he referred us to do the EMG had a dead EMG machine, so it was impossible to do as he asked on time. Dr. Malik then proceeded to fire Ed as a patient. I feel like he was afraid he screwed up. He has a good bed side manner, but he is afraid of his own shadow. He doesn’t take constructive criticism at all.

Dr Malik is amazing. Super caring and compassionate. I have a complicated medical history and Dr. Malik took the time to navigate through it and offer me help. I trust him and his treatment choices; that's a rarity for me. For the first time in years I finally found relief from the pain. I was a patient of Dr. Malik's in Grapevine and found his new location in Richardson. His new contact #469-589-1871. So so glad I've been able to find him and continue treatments.

I had major open back surgery (T-10 to S-1) on 11/23/18 and began my relationship with Dr. Malik. After post-op pain, I had severe pain in my L-5/S-1 area which prevented me from standing, walking, or sitting for over a few minutes. I could lie flat, but couldn’t get out of bed. I could tolerate sitting and sleeping in my recliner by repeatedly adjusting it’s position. Dr. Malik has supported me the past 20 months through his sincere attentiveness, kindness, and his wealth of knowledge. I consider him my friend and trust him completely. Yesterday, through out-patient surgery, he implanted a spinal stimulator in my back and we’re hoping for the same level of pain relief (or better) that I received from the stimulator trial a month ago. The operation went well and I am expecting an improvement in the quality of my life. I would “feel good” about recommending Dr. Malik to anyone suffering from pain.

I was seen initially as a new patient Dec. 2019 for chronic pain from fibromyalgia. However, I kept reporting upper arm pain month after month. He told me to my face "There is no reason for your arms to be hurting. You should see a psychiatrist. Perhaps you are feeling guilty about something." 5 months later he says "Maybe you should get an MRI". Long story short, I came back with a herniated disc at C5 C6 and upper arm pain is a classic symptom of this issue. The herniation was so bad that injections did not help - I changed docs because Dr. M. refused to increase my pain meds while waiting for injections to work - and I also tried PT. I ended up having neck surgery in February 2020. My pain is slowly improving but I feel he totally glossed over obvious symptoms because of my fibromyalgia. I spent a year trying to get treatment that was needed but missed.

I am a retired PA, so I tend to be selective about my health care. After 6 months of pain, numbness and tingling due to multiple herniated discs, I consulted Dr. Malik for pain management. He was very attentive, listened closely to my history and examined me thoroughly. My epidural was professionally done, and I am pain-free. There was a wait that day, but I suspect his workload is heavy because he is an excellent physician, and does not rush patients through. I highly recommend Dr. Malik!

I had never been to a pain management clinic before. Through the years I have had 40 surgeries, most of them because I worked in a factory, on cement floors, for 30 years, and the work was heavy and repetitious, consequently causing a large amount of stress over the years. It was also a job that I loved but now at the age of 62, I find myself in a position where insurance changes for medications that you’re used to having, are. I longer,so I was referred to Dr. Malik. I find him to be so knowledgeable, and so kind, not to mention extremely intelligent! I asked a ton of questions and he stays in the room for as long as I need to ask them. So if anyone, at any age, finds a change in the way their body is treated medically, I can absolutely recommend Dr. Malik to help them! He doesn’t just hand you a pill, and send you on your way. He is very knowledgeable on all the up-to-date procedures, that are done in the office and not invasive, to help your needs. His staff very kind too!!
