She's Stressed Out, and It Shows
Telehealth
Dr. Hong is a nice lady, but she seems to be very stressed out which shows when interacting with her. She tries her best to put on a smile and push through, but her high-stress levels are evident.I went to see her for my declining mental health, and she told me to shut down my business if I couldn't handle the stress, which is none of her business. Also, she kept changing meds every time I experienced a new side effect which is not best practice.I have since switched to a different psychiatrist who has ramped me up on an anxiety medication so that my body can slowly adjust to it and handle the side effects, which usually subside within a few weeks. I've also researched and found out that I likely have an imbalance in my microbiome (gut) and need to address that to improve my mental health, which I'm in the process of doing. She should take her own advice - if she can't handle the stress of owning a practice, then she should shut it down or find a way to manage her anxiety.

Unhelpful - treats you like data
Telehealth
She is stuck in her ways. She doesn’t explain anything and just asks dumb questions and doesn’t respect you as a human being.

Unethical and incompetent business
Dr. Hong and her staff have been unhelpful and/or rude. Their business practices are unethical - I was charged for a service that I was assured was covered by my insurance. Came to find out it was because her billing office failed to send the appropriate documentation to my insurance company. I've been trying for months to clear this up. Tried talking to Dr. Hong about it, but she just rudely dismissed my concern. The billing specialist is only in the office twice a week and is now on leave, I left so many messages for her but never heard back. This place is a nightmare.

I have been with Dr. Hong for more than ten years. She is compassionate. She listens. The staff are always courteous. I had been through 3 other psychiatrists before her. They did not take the time to listen or to try new things if something wasn't working. Dr. Hong does!

This place is a joke!!! Never was there and they send me an invoice of $60 for a no show? I called to tell them to take me out of their system and to send me the logs and phone recording records to PROVE we ever had a conversation of me booking an appointment and them telling me if I did not show, I would be charged $60. IT NEVER HAPPENED! Never was told I would be charged $60. This place wants to help people? Yeah right, just wants peoples money.... STAY AWAY!

There seems to be little genuine care or compassion from this psychiatrist for patient well being. EVERY time I see her she is late for the appointment, only sees me for literally five minutes, and then pushes me out of the office before I can even ask questions. This is not an exaggeration as I have been consistently seeing her for YEARS and have tried to give her the benefit of the doubt repeatedly. I myself am a mental healthcare provider and would not recommend her to anyone.

In short: Dr. Hong is the perfect embodiment of what anyone seeking help with their mental health is afraid of—she’s judgmental, dismissive, vague and quick to prescribe invasive medications without telling you what they’re for—she won’t give you a diagnosis, but she’ll sure drug you stupid. The long version: Arrived half an hour early, as requested. Office was empty, no reception to check me in and nobody answering when I called out. Fifteen minutes after my appointment time, Dr. Hong appears

I was on time for my appointment and was told she was out to lunch so I waited an hour for her to show up right when her next appointment was coming in. She was insulting combative and showed absolutely no concern for my well being. She spent 15 minutes, barely, telling me how I don't have what numerous psychiatrists have diagnosed me with including a doctor in her office. She actually said I don't know why you are here I never helped you. She made me want to try and commit suicide again. So...

Worst doctor I've ever seen. Rude, late, I paid for an hour and got 15 minutes. Left feeling worse than before I went. Which is pretty bad considering I had just tried to commit suicide. Offered no help was told I don't suffer from something I've been suffering from for 13 years. But then she only spent 5 minutes with me most of which was insults to my person by her. She should be sanctioned for the way I was treated.
