Look elsewhere if you have a rare disease
I was a patient for over a year. Everyone was very friendly; however, I truly felt that this was an assembly line for eye injections. The tech would have me sign the injection waiver before I even had the exam. Since I have a rare disease, I asked if taking eye vitamins would be helpful. She said no, the studies were done on AMD. Additionally, I spent time on google reading about my diagnosis, and discovered there was an ongoing clinical trial that has been going on for years. It is in its final stages and has been sent to the FDA for approval. Not only did she not know about this, but was very negative about it being successful. I did more research and found a specialist who knows, treats and was involved in the clinical trial. I have been taking eye vitamins daily and have not had a bleed for 1.5 years since I switched doctors. No injections since I left this office - the question is Eye Vitamins Or Unnecessary Injections? And my eyes are stable, no progression.

During a recent check-up with Dr. Shif it was determined I needed emergency surgery on my right eye. Dr. Shif explained things very clearly to me while also treating me with compassion which was necessary at that time. Her surgery coordinator , Phyllis Rogers , worked dilligently with the hospital and one of my other doctors to arrange all the tests required for the surgery. Dr. Shif did a wonderful job in the O.R. and explained my post operation instructions very clearly. She and Ms. Rogers make quite a team.
