Believe what you read. I am filling a complaint with Medical board, my insurance company and Franciscan Health. I almost want to leave their network and two other doctors that are great. I won?t see any other doctors within their network. I don’t know how she can make a diagnosis after a 30 min video call. Her questions and comments are disrespectful and rude. Made statements that because I use needles for migraine and other medications that I was more likely to be a drug abuser. Her questions are 1-10 with ten being, she needs to put you in the hospital. I didn?t want her to prescribe anything, I was going for medication management. It?s no wonder people don’t seek help. I don?t know why companies continue to employ people that have such low reviews and people skills, other than greed.

Very disrespectful. Treated me like a drug addict every interaction we had and didn’t seem to be very knowledgeable in her field. She also got very “explainy” with me when she found out I was held back a year in HS. Almost as if she thought I had some sort of retardation

Doesn’t listen
I’ve been seeing her for about two years. I’ve never felt very comfortable or like she was listening to me. Only reason I stayed with her for so long was because finding a new psychiatrist is a pain and I had been pretty steady. The second I started having issues and needing to either change or increase meds, her solution was to just constantly prescribe more meds. I was honest that I had used substances in the past once or twice - I was not addicted, just tried out a couple times. So she listed on my chart that I’m an addict… I believe in being honest with my doctor so we can effectively treat my disorder but you cannot be honest with her because she assumes you’re lying or something.

Horrible
Dr. Brimmo was awful. She wouldn't listen to me at all. She suggested things as if I was a nut case and needed extensive outpatient, which was absurd. Her form of 1-10 questions doesn't help. The medications were not what I needed. I even did the genetic DNA test which shows what meds will and won't work well with you. I didn't agree with her diagnosis. She left things out of the notes of my chart and added things that weren't right. She is absolutely awful. I would give her negative stars. Last but not least, the wait times were crazy. Over an hour and then to be treated like a child.

Dr. Brimmo offered no compassion during a time that I was suffering. She sat in front of a screen, accused me of using drugs, and did nothing to address my issues. She later had me committed inpatient at a hospital where she was an admitting and attending psychiatrist, saying that I was a harm to myself. I had to fight to be released (thank goodness my family had my back) because I was refusing to take her prescribed meds and meet with her while there, which prevented me from being discharged. The experience was traumatizing and risked my career. Furthermore, it made me not trust anyone in the mental health arena. She should have her license revoked. With the shortages in psychiatry throughout the state, it is clear why she can get you an appointment quickly.

I can understand why she has low reviews on this site, as she is not like most psychiatrists. She comes from a very clinical point of view, takes weight and BP at every appointment, asks a lot of 1-10 questions, which is frustrating. However, she was the first and only psych to find my real diagnosis (changed from MDD to Bipolar 2) and in 3 months, finally found the right cocktail of meds that work for me. Thanks to Dr. Brimmo, I feel like myself again.

The worst experience I have had with a medical provider. She increased threefold the anxiety I was there for her to treat. She didn't discuss anything, and if you tried to talk she'd wave you off. My first appointment with her was a train wreck. I arrived with so much hope that I was going to get answers. By 20 minutes in I was sobbing and felt like I was being treated like a two-year old. I left Memorial Hospital's Behavioral Health Program because of it.

I found this "doctor" to be 100% INCOMPETENT! Beware of her! She has absolutely NO idea what she is doing. I cannot believe IU Health hired her!! Really, she is the WORST! RUN AWAY!!!!! (If I could give her negative stars I would!)

Do not as he your time with Dr. Brimmo. She is the worst provider I've ever met. She treats me like I'm a 3 year old child when she talks to me. She tells me it's my fault when I have a hard time understanding her accent and makes me repeat everything she says. I've never been so humiliated. She does not care about patients at all!
