I would absolutely recommend Dr. Akbik!
Dr. Akbik is very knowledgeable about the brain and spinal cord. I had a very large meningoma removed in 2021 and have had no side effects from the surgery. Dr. Akbik takes the time to explain what is going to happen and what to expect after surgery. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs o have any type of brain or spinal surgery to see him. He's fabulous!

Dr. Akbik is an extremely caring and brilliant physician. I was fortunate to have him perform my craniotomy in 2023 (with his focus now mainly on spinal surgeries). He explains MRI results in a manner easy to understand and discusses anticipated prognosis. He really shares his enthusiasm with the development and expansion of the neuro program. I would definitely recommend him and his fellow team members for any neurological needs.

Dr Akbik was very clear what the nature of my condition was and how to treat it. He answered all my questions and used imaging and models to show what was wrong and how he was going to fix it. I'm very happy with the results of surgery. I believe if Dr Akbik had performed my first laminectomy in 2022 [...], I probably wouldn't have needed this surgery.

I was relieved to see pictures if my recent MRIs as well pictures I'd had sent from MRI in 2017! He took time to show me why I do NOT need surgery! Wonderful.
