Dr. Oscar Ellison, MD

Dr Ellison is a Super helpful physician who took his time getting to know me and my medical history and has helped me recover. He also believes in preventative medicine and he helped me with health and life habits to become healthier and develop a stronger immune system. I also love the new concierge offering and have called him late at night for an emergency- I felt bad but he answered and helped diagnose me immediately! He has literally saved my life.

- BEWARE!! of BILLING PROCESS. Due to the office staff's inability to submit my claim correctly, the bill came back to me to pay. In summary, they continued to submit incorrectly. Update 1/29/22- almost 3 years later they created new charges they use this shady bill code for "time spent for low-level medical decision on my account" Over and over again they kept submitting the same exact way. In the end, because they only took action every few months the time had expired for them to submit...and now they are telling me the bill HAS TO BE PAID BY ME. A quick phone call to me or the insurance co. early on would have fixed this and saved hours of my time and the service people's time.

Answered my questions, provided me strategies to assist with conditions

Very long wait time. Insisted upon treatments I did not need. Was told I couldn't get blood work done b/c he did not have enough of my patient hx, but clearly he thought he had enough information to insist upon two treatments that were not indicated for someone my age. I felt bullied into treatments, and when I asked if they were indicated for someone my age he stated yes, when all indications are that I was not.

Here's the low-down: He doesn't listen to complaints and has questionable billing practices. Appointments frequently rushed. Doesn't listen to/brushes aside medical complaints. Spends extra time repeatedly repeating statements (I wouldn't normally comment on this, but I believe this adds an extra 15-20 minutes for each appointment, which results in substantial additional billing, and so looks like a stalling tactic to bill more). Also had issues with billing department - they gave underestimates of billing for services before the services were done (I wouldn't have requested the services from this doctor if I'd had those estimates) and added redundant charges to my bills until I cleared them after talking to multiple points of contact (office, billing, insurance). I won't be coming back.

A wonderful, caring doctor. He values your health and spends a great amount of time with you to get and keep you healthy. Dr. Ellison has a true desire to keep you healthy and overcome any issues before putting you on prescriptions. The man is a real blessing. If you're looking for a doctor to not care, write a prescription, and send you out the door, Dr. Ellsion is not for you. If you want true health by a physician who cares, he is the doctor to go to.

Dr. Ellison is fantastic and always concerned about his patients above all else. I love his style and his expertise. I live much farther away from his office now but I still go there because I've been going to him since 1991 and would not leave his care until he or I are gone from this Earth! :-)

Refreshingly personable doctor with focus on his patients immediate and long term health! He takes time to investigate your medical history to offer the best preventative care! He’s truly a gem!

Long wait and weird... He was incredibly friendly and seemed to know his stuff but this was not the right clinic for me. Wait was about an hour long. The initial appointment I hd made—they didn't put me in the system so he didn't know I had an appointment with them so I had to reschedule. When I finally had my appointment they had me do an EKG—what primary care physician has you do an EKG? This was soo soooo weird!

As a new patient, I was really impressed with Dr Ellison from his professionalism and care provided. He really took the time (45min to full hour) to get to know me and my medical history. Great 'bedside' manner as well. Seemed to know about about diet and exercise as well. Glad I chose him as my doctor.

I highly recommend Dr. Ellison. He is a great person and doctor, smart and caring. He has all the qualities of a good doctor: compassionate, confident, strong work ethic, professional, knowledgeable, respectful, thorough and humble. I have been going to him for 3-4 years now, and even after moving further away from his office I still prefer to drive and see him as my doctor. I tried other doctors in the DMV area and none matched up to my standards or his expertise.

One of the worst office staff ever. They like to make money by charging you additional things you don't need. Schedule your appointment without your confirmation and then also charge you that you never showed up. After which if you try to reach out to them and to check about the charges that you never requested an appointment they will simply deny it, prove you as a LIAR I would give them a zero or a minus star. As the other patient said they like to milk money from patients

Good doctor but milks patients for money. Keeps on making appointments when they are not needed.

I can't remember how long I've been going to Dr. Ellison, it's been a long time...maybe 20 years. He's a fantastic doctor. Always takes his time with you, never rushes you. I trust him completely with my health.

I would recommend 100% to Dr Ellison not just for his vast knowledge in the medical field .but also, at the beginning he recommends the natural medicine before to prescribe stronger one. As a human being he is sensitive and comforter when we are in pain.
