Dr. Owen Barruw, MD

Been see Dr Barruw for 6 years. Always professional and thoughtful. Very good diagnostic skills. Very good bedside manner. I highly recommend him.

I have been going to Associated Family Physicians for many years. In the absence of DR Barruw, I have used alternate Physicians such as Drs Altman and Utamsingh. The staff and Doctors are very professional and provide excellent care. I recommend Associated Family Physicians and give them a 5 star rating.

Every visit to Dr Barruw of Associated Family Physicians of Boca Raton is a "10".... Appointments are always on time, staff is professional, friendly and proficient. Dr Barruw always asks "so what's up?" and "how are we doing?" And he doesn't just ask... he takes the time to listen and shows that he understands and has concern for your physical well being.... Dr Barruw takes to the time to explain his findings and his recommendations, and he has a good sense of humor too! All my visits are pleasant and always satisfactory. I would recommend Dr Barruw to all my friends and family.

The doctor is friendly and seems competent, but his staff is his downfall. Prescriptions are not called in on a timely basis, the pharmacy has to call more than once to the office to get refills, and the staff seems uncaring or unable to assist the patients. Wake up to your staff issues doctor. Two different pharmacies have had this issue on prescription refills.

Always asks about all my concerns. Listens attentively. I've been happily with him over 20 years.

DO NOT USE! I wish I could give zero stars or half a star. Terrible healthcare manager. Neglected patient care which resulted in admission to hospital which could have been easily treated and managed if proper care was given. No bedside manner and in a rush to leave your appt/ annoyed with answering any questions you may have and needing any explanations of medical terms/treatment.

I went to this (so called) doctor for stomach cramps and bloating. He was with me a total of 5 minutes....just long enough to give a squeeze here and there. Ordered a urinalysis and sent me home with 3 prescriptions. Never told me anything about the drugs or what they were for. Never asked what else I was taking. Fortunately the druggist was better at his profession than this fool and suggested strongly that 1 of the 3 new drugs would have "drastic" side effects due to my heart meds..That's right I said DRASTIC side effects. Do yourself a favor and find a real doctor...not this one...he doesn't care about his patients at all....and pushes pills as the cure all. REPEAT>> HE NEVER ASKED WHAT ELSE I WAS TAKING OR ANY OTHER MEDICAL QUESTIONS WHATSOEVER....VISIT LASTED 5MINUTES> My grandson of 8 would have done better. A TOTAL IDIOT> Perhaps not even a real doctor.

If this is the best you can find you're in trouble. This guy could not care less about the patients. Spends very very little time and operates like a factory worker...no conversation...NOTHING! I'll find a real doctor next time...this guy should have been an undertaker.

Dr Barruw and Samantha have been providing me decades of excellent service and care. I am 100% confident I am getting the best care available. I would highly recommend him to anyone

The man should clearly not be practicing medicine. He’s a total idiot. Going to him is like going yon no one. Stay clear of this dangerous spiteful dr.

Do NOT go! This practice and the MA can not be trusted. We booked annual physical & were clear it was work requirement to get a lower premium. Physicals are covered by insurance 100%. Day of appt Barruw used 'discretion' (quote from MA since we checked a box about cholesterol) to do a diagnostic instead. Now, no lower premiums and a $130 bill not covered by insurance! This is a corporation interested in billing only. They admit they should have told us but won't (haven't) issued credit

The front office staff was very helpful in assisting me. I had an issue with my insurance and they helped me solve it by calling and talking to them for about 30 min! They really took their time and wanted me to get the care that I needed. DR. Barruw was very tenative and had an excellent bedside manner. This was a new patient appt and I plan on going to this office for a long time.

I like Dr Barruw very much, I have kept him as my Dr even after I have moved out the the local area, I trust him with my health care. The only reason I would ever consider leaving him is I am not fond of his MA.
