Dr. Pablo Villanueva-Meyer, MD

I am not sure what the negative rating and review about Dr. Villanueva-Meyer are about but I had a positive experience with Dr Meyer. I was referred to Dr. Meyer by my PCP. After he repeated blood and urine tests, he ordered a kidney biopsy immediately and found out I had an autoimmune disease that was affecting my kidneys. Unfortunately the medication to treat this condition was very expensive and the insurance company did not cover for it. Dr. Meyer went above and beyond to speak with insurance people to help me get the medication. Now I am all recovered and Dr. Meyer continues to actively monitor my kidneys. I think I would've been on dialysis already if he did not catch my disease. I cannot express how grateful I am to have Dr. Meyer as my nephrologist. He is intelligent and truly cares about his patients.

Finally a doctor that really cares about his patients. I have been with Dr Villanueva Meyer for the past 3 years. I have never felt rushed by him and he always takes the time to explain my kidney conditions and the medications that he is starting and why he is starting them. Though his office can be a little challenging to navigate, the doctor is a gem.

Lack of communication, mismanagement of patient care, and the discontinuation of the patient's blood pressure medication without an active patient care plan resulted in the patient being hospitalized and starting dialysis during the hospital stay.
