Dr. Padmalatha Collappakkam, MD

She is very interested in keeping you healthy. She is able to respond to questions, and listens to patients. A good doctor. I've had her for years.

Dr Collappakkam is our family doctor for a long time. She checks everything carefully and prescribes our medications. She advises the vaccinations. We trust her.

Dr Collappakkam is a great specialist. She spends a lot of time to hear about my problems. She finds out the cause of my sickness and orders the tests and prescriptions. I am glad that she close to me.

I was able to get into to see Dr. Collappakkam same day for an acute appointment. She addressed my concerns, I was able to get in and out of my appointment quickly without feeling rushed. She was so kind and very thorough.

The Dr prefers to have the patient wait for long period of times in an exam room even though they have a scheduled appointment. She tends to talk at length with previous appointments and doesn't communicate she may be running late. No concern for the welfare of the patient and their time.

I use her for my annual check up and HBP. Seems thoughtful and helpful.

I've had Dr.Collapakkam as my family doctor for about 5-6 years, and the only reason I've kept her my doctor is I've found that many of the doctor's in the Iowa City region are quite similar to her. One issue I've had is that she only responds to calls, emails, inquiries if she feels as though she has too. I've reached out to her plenty of times regarding medical questions regarding medicine prescribed and i've only had her call me back once. Also when asking for my vaccination records she, the person who had given me MANY vaccines say that I hadn't received any vaccines from her. She then proceeded to make some bozo excuse regarding a family member. Later I followed up again! and she finally yielded them. I would high recommend traveling to another city than deal with her or her staff.

I have complete and total faith in Dr. Collappakkam. My previous doctor at the Coralville Mercy Family Services diagnosed me with type II diabetes and we spent several months trying several medications and combinations thereof to control my sugar levels with lackluster results. When she left the practice, I chose Dr. Collappakkam as my family physician. After our first visit and some questioning, she sent me to an endocrinologist at UIHC believing I had adult onset type I diabetes which was confirmed by testing at UIHC. I often wonder how long I would have dealt with blood sugar levels bouncing between unhealthy highs and lows if I had not met with Dr. Collappakkam. I have found, in my situation, the communication between Mercy Family Services and UIHC Diabetic Unit to be professional and complete. I have recommended Dr. Collappakkam to several people and will continue to do so.
