Dr McShane is definitely an expert in her field who knows what she is talking about. After seeing so many lung specialists for the MAC disease in the past several years, who always prescribed with antibiotics only for treating the symptoms, she also took a fresh approach that focuses on improving my lung function to help stop the problem from happening to begin with. I already see short term improvement and am hopeful of long term change as well. Her nursing staff are all very friendly and caring. Really enjoy the experience of being her patient. Thanks.

I was struggling with a chronic lung infection when I first saw Dr. McShane. She showed me techniques at my first appointment to help me manage my infection, and I benefited immediately. Every time I see her, I learn something new that improves my life. She is extremely knowledgeable about bronchiectasis, NTM and other bacterial lung infections. I never feel rushed during my visit, and she always takes the time to answer everything on my list. She explains things very clearly. She is by far the best pulmonologist I have every had. Her nurse and respiratory therapist are excellent too. Everyone in Tyler is so helpful and friendly.

Very helpful & informative. Before visit I expected to get a treatment plan based on diagnosis in San Antonio rather than 'starting over' with new labs. Dr. McShane is obviously very deliberate and thorough.

I read about Dr. McShane’s background and breadth of experience with my lung condition and scheduled an appt at UT Tyler Health Science Center for her evaluation and second opinion regarding my treatment path. I felt encouraged by the thorough evaluation as well as the immediate guidance of a respiratory therapist and a full lung function testing. My local pulmonologist had never done a lung function study, and after 2 months, I myself had to request a visit with the respiratory therapist and referral to Dr. McShane. She is addressing an underlying issue that may have predisposed me to getting my lung infection and also gave me instructions and guidance with the help of her RT to help avoid lung infections. I am currently using the therapies twice daily at home. I was given vials to send in monthly sputum samples. Her staff facilitated obtaining a nebulizer through the hospital pharmacy as well as in arranging for monthly shipments of the saline. A hundred stars.

Dr.McShane listens and explains well. She does not hurry through the appt. , and cares about my individual case & needs. She’s an amazing doctor.

Will and would highly recommend Dr. McShane to anyone dealing with NTM and Bronchiectasis. Realized a lot of advances in this area aiming in improving patients wellbeing. Dr. has great communication with her patients breaking it down to a comprehendible level. This Center was recommended by my Mothers pulmonologist in Houston as this is all that they specialize in and it shows.
