Sloppy and careless
Dr. Sahani was very sloppy and careless in reading my chart. She told me I had cysts in my breast, when I actually had micro-calcium deposits. If she had been more careful, she could have told me that these deposits often turn into cancer and encouraged me to do a 6 month follow-up. When I needed a biopsy, Dr. Sahani was gone for a month and it was difficult to get anyone at her office to write me a prescription. I finally got my PCP to write a prescription. I received a cancer diagnosis on MyChart on a Monday morning, with no follow-up calls to explain my cancer or next steps. It was both confusing and terrifying. I reached out to Dr. Sahani's office again and spent an entire day Googling my condition, which I should never have had to do. I eventually got a terse response on MyChart from a doctor covering for Dr. Sahani, telling me what stage I was and that she'd write a referral for a breast surgeon. Which I couldn't find for 2 days. I cannot trust Dr. Sahani with my health.

Unfriendly Sahani
I saw Dr. Sahani for a routine prenatal visit because she was filling in for another NYU OB who had a last minute scheduling conflict. My husband and I both noted very quickly after her entry into the room that she was odd. She isn't charming or friendly. She is definitely condescending at times and prefers to make incorrect assumptions about you. Even though we had a long conversation and she addressed many of my questions, she rattled off information quickly on purpose to make it hard for anyone to follow. Plus when giving warnings, she would start the sentence in the second person and then look at him and finish the sentence in the third person. It was so odd that I asked her directly who she's referring to in the third person. It's my body, I'm used to doctors speaking to me even though my husband is in the room. She also told me not to fall again as if I my accident was intentional. We are both unimpressed and hope to not have to encounter her again for the rest of our lives.

She was one of the doctors at NYU who led my pregnancy. She's knowledgeable and pleasant and attentive. I highly reccomend her.

During the visit her attitude was extremely cold and condescending. She questioned why I did not "take good care of myself" during pregnancy as I said I had some back pain. She spoke extremely fast without explaining anything. Towards the end of the visit she said "I already spent XX minutes with you" - seems like I wasted her valuable time. Horrible manner, not sure why she even wanted to be a doctor.

STAY AWAY. I don't know what made Parita want to become a doctor. She was so cold, sarcastic, fake, discomforting, discouraging, and everything bad. She did not care about me at all. No bedside manner. I wanted a natural birth no epidural and when I finished delivering she told me, "you need an epidural next time" and walked out of the room. No congratulations, no happy smile. While i was pushing she told me, "I have 20 other patients to get to." After i delivered she told me I might need a blood transfusion and that I lost 1/5 of my blood, but when I returned for my postpartum visit she said "your blood loss was normal." She did not come check on me the next day. She gave my husband attitude. She is SO condescending i cant even begin to describe it. She assumed I would have another baby in a year because of my religion. She was barely in the delivery room the whole time. I asked her how many stitches I got, she kept saying "one run of stitches" such an unclear pointless answer.

I came for a visit following some bleeding during pregnancy after much of the bleeding had subsided. Dr. Sahani was only interested in why I requested to be seen in person rather than by video (COVID-19 precautions) (I didnt request this-it was scheduled for me). At a time I needed support, she was rude and didn't even explain to me why I could be bleeding. Completely useless appointment. Not to mention she was 30 minutes late.

Although there can be many reasons for a physician and her/his practice being horrendous, incompetence mixed with arrogance is by far the most deadly. Dr Parita Sahani, DO and the entire nursing staff with whom Ive had the displeasure of interacting, have both in spades. I would recommend staying away at all costs unless an apathetic and arrogant physician is what you seek.

Dr. Sahani delivered my baby by c section. During the pushing phase of labor, which she presided over, she was a total monster. I will never forget the way she spoke to me, belittling me at a time when I most needed support and kindness. She performed the surgery skillfully as far as I know, but her bedside manner is shockingly atrocious. I attempted to address this with her both in the moment and afterward and she was entirely defensive and unable to hear me.

Dr Sahani was the first doctor I saw after finding out I was pregnant. I am an avid note taker and had already come prepared with questions on my phone. As I took notes, Dr Sahani attempted to chastise me for not paying attention while I was actually writing down all the information she was giving me. She made a few rude comments and also breezed over sections of my medical history and was annoyed when I would ask her to go back. Our encounter was so uncomfortable where she didn't trust me to listen that I eventually addressed that it was a tense meeting and that she was acting "snippy" with me. She made no acknowledgement and moved right along to more questions. It's unclear to me why she did not believe I was taking notes after I clarified and showed her what I was doing on my phone multiple times.
