Dr. Patricia Hutchinson, MD

For years, I have suffered from shortness of breath & my symptoms only show up in the summer, humidity, outside. My visit with Ms. Hutchinson started out with no issue. I described my symptoms & discussed my previous doctor visits & exams. Ms. Hutchinson was very nice and acted knowledgeable. However, the moment she reviewed the medications I used, her tone and deminor immediately changed. I had been prescribed medication for an OCD anxiety disorder years ago.When asked, I thoroughly explained my symptoms & was open and up front about my specific struggle with OCD anxiety, to which I have lived with for years and understand very well. After discovering this on my chart, she did not listen to anything else I had to say, she had already made up her mind. She told me that I should speak to a therapist instead, because she was convinced this was the cause. If testing shows no allergy, so be it, but her refusal to look into anything else and make a snap conclusion was very unprofessional.

Saw dr. Applebaum in Parsippany. Said he is very sure my problem is environmental allergies. He told me I have “seasonal eczema”. Had me prepared to do immunotherapy which is done only for environmental allergies. $3100.00 out of pocket. Had no runny nose, no watery eyes, no sneezing. Just a very red, blotchy and sore, itchy, painful, stinging face. 2nd opinion. Dr. Hutchinson explained with a drawing, types of allergies and why this is NOT environmental. She first suggested I change my shampoo and soap. I also at the same time changed my laundry detergent and purchased an hypo allergenic pillow. Amazing!!! By the end of the week all redness was gone. Itching gone. I could go out in public again. Yay Dr. Hutchinson!!! Boo dr. Applebaum. If not for Dr. Hutchinson I would have wasted thousands and would continue with the same problem for years. Thank you Dr. Hutchinson. If not for you I would have been going through h*ll still. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!
