Partial knee replacement
At 72 years of age, it was challenging finding a surgeon who would consider doing a partial knee replacement. It was simply not an option for most surgeons. Plus, I'm allergic to nickel so that made it a little more challenging because he couldn't use the robot that goes along with the Smith and Nephew prosthesis. But Dr. Gilligan knows his stuff. No problem. It's been over a year now and I have no regrets and you'll have no regrets either.

Very Calm
Dr. Gilligan is very calm and respectful to the patient, which is an outstanding quality that builds trust. I am a patient of another orthopedic surgeon who recently retired, and am happy to have found such an outstanding replacement. Dr. Gilligan's staff are also very personable and put the patient immediately at ease.

New hip! New lease on life!
Dr Gilligan and his team are amazing! I had arthritis in my right hip. Dr. Gilligan performed my total hip arthroplasty anterior approach. His bedside manner is calm and he seeks to give great information. I am seven weeks out and have a completely new lease on life! The pain after surgery was minimal. I was up and around quickly. I started physical therapy immediately. I cannot be happier with my result, my care, or with Dr. Gilligan and his team. I highly recommend, Dr. Gilligan!

Great Orthopedic doctor
The most amazing Orthopedic practice in New Mexico . Dr. Gilligan has saved my left knee not once but twice with his fantastic skills . The front office and all the supporting medical staff are super friendly and very knowledgeable ! My case was very difficult in 2019 and Dr. Gilligan guided me through it like the true Pro that he is ! Now having had a total knee replacement at the beginning of May I am truly amazed at how well I am already doing . I would definitely recommend anyone needing an Orthopedic Surgeon to go to Dr. Gilligan and Lovelace Medical Group . I just want to thank Dr. Gilligan and his staff once again for the great work they have done for me !

Dr. Gilligan: a no-nonsense doctor.
It is a rare find when a surgeon asserts that physical therapy is the way to go, before considering any operation, or even cortisone injections. Dr. Patrick Gilligan is certainly a no-nonsense doctor, and projects his honesty towards the patient.
