Hitting the Wall due to Confusing Office Policy
We are trying not to be disappointed but cannot overcome it. My son had knee surgery with Dr. Henderson 4 months ago. He recently was inadvertently stepped on and that caused knee pain and swelling at the surgical site. We sought care at Tucson Orthopedic After Hours Clinic for diagnosis and imaging and was told there to follow up with Dr. Henderson. We tried to follow up with Dr. Henderson but because we were seen at an after hours clinic in the evening (injuries don’t always occur during office hours) we were told that Dr. Henderson is now a consulting doctor in his case and my son cannot be seen in Dr. Henderson’s office for nearly a month. Knowing the results of the MRI from my son’s surgeon seems appropriate but waiting nearly a month seems excessively long. Dr. Henderson’s MA also stated that my son’s pain tolerance was low., yet after surgery, he did not require the use of narcotic pain meds, but managed his recovery with ibuprofen and acetaminophen Sort of mean!

Terrible Bedside Manner
He was dismissive and unkind. He acted like following our PCP instructions was an ignorant thing to do. He explained the diagnosis but he treatment plan was contrary to all other opinions and the way he spoke to a child was shocking. My daughter cried following the appointment because of the way Dr Henderson spoke to her. Gaslighting women’s pain apparently starts at a young age in this office.
