It waited nearly 40 minutes for a ten minute consult. I was referred to him by another doctor in the same practice, but he was confused about why. Apparently the tear was "unimpressive" and didn't warrant surgery. He was fairly pleasant, but tended to cut me off. While examining me, he was very rough and I was in more pain when I left than when I got there. I felt a bit dismissed. Maybe it would have made a difference if I needed surgery and was going to be his patient for a while rather than a one off. Or maybe it's just because they were so busy. The waiting room was packed and it felt a bit like we were being herded in and out like cattle. From the look on other patients' faces, I don't think I was the only one who noticed.

Nice and clean facility. Everyone I spoke with was extremely friendly and helpful. I had X-rays done in minutes and saw the Dr shortly after. He was polite, easy to talk to, very knowledgeable, and straight to the point.

Saw Dr. Ruwe for the first time today. Previous surgeries and treatment had been provided by Dr. Aversa who recently passed away. He would be proud of the manner in which I was treated today. Dr. Ruwe had taken the time to review my past history, including X Ray's, MRI and surgical procedures. Based on current X Ray's he laid out a common sense treatment plan for my current situation. I am very pleased.

I don’t feel Dr Ruwe listened to anything I said about my knee pain in the BACK of my knee. He only showed me the bone on bone issue with my kneecap that had nothing to do with my pain. Went back for 2nd visit. He didn’t even have me stand up or walk. Felt he totally brushed me off.

I saw Dr. Ruwe over the course of the summer of 2018. I suffered a knee injury and I was not able to bend my knee more than 15 degrees. I did physical therapy three times a week, followed all the recommendations from Dr. Ruwe and my PT team, but there was NO improvement. I had several appointments and every time I brought up the fact that I wasn’t improving, Dr. Ruwe insisted it was a slow healing dislocation and it needed time. At my final appointment, my PT team asked me to bring up the potential of a loose body in my knee or something more than just a dislocation. PT also asked me to tell the doctor that they had exhausted their care options and their treatment plan wasn’t helping. Dr. Ruwe spent 10 minutes in the room for my appointment and told me “tell your physical therapists to stick to physical therapy.” I left and got a second opinion. That doctor recommended arthroscopic knee surgery and found out I had plica syndrome. He removed the plica and I was walking in a few days.

Dr. Ruwe is the best - he has done 4 knee surgeries on me, and while I really hope I never have another knee issue, if I did, I'd come back to him. He is not only a great surgeon, but genuinely cares about his patients. I always feel safe, comfortable, and at east with everyone at CT Ortho. They make an overwhelming process smooth and anxiety-free. Everyone is super warm and attentive. Thanks to all!!
