Dr. Patrick Swift was my Mother's Radiation Oncologist. My Mom passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 26th, 2020. She would have been 86 in April of 2021. She had early-stage lung cancer and had undergone targeted radiation treatment for 3 weeks at the Stanford Oncology Center near Good Samaritan. My Mom had COPD, Congestive Heart Failure, and Arrhythmia. Rather than recommend that she do nothing, Dr. Patrick Swift recommended radiation as an option. About 3 weeks into the one-month recovery after the radiation, my Mom died from heart failure. While the ultimate responsibility for doing the treatment was my Mom's, she was not a good candidate for this type of treatment. Given that the cancer was early stage, the appropriate course of action would have been to leave it alone and just monitor it. Also, no one from Dr. Swift's office called me after my Mom passed. I have not heard anything from them. I would not recommend Dr. Patrick Swift to anyone.
