Dr. Patti May, MD

1st visit she spent 2 full hours reviewing my records. Listens well, does not sugar coat, just what I was looking for.

She was immediately judgmental and demanding an explanation for me declining a certain test that I am uncomfortable with (and is completely unnecessary). Actually rolled her eyes and verbally mocked me. Awful! I only took a walk in appointment with Grace Clinic b/c my dr didn’t have any openings. She refused to give me a steroid injection for my symptoms because I declined that test. This was all after nearly waiting 3 hours, and that was AFTER checking in online well in advance. Unacceptable!

Very friendly yet professional. Took her time with me since I'm a complicated case with many other specialists that I see. She helps me which doctor would better fit a trip with symptoms. And a lot of the time it's within her scope to be able to treat me, especially if it new and needs managing until I can get in to see a doctor. I trust her judgement and 95% of her referrals. The 5% is beyond being able to know until I get there. I also know I have to advocate for my own health and push to know why what is being done and inform her as honestly and completely as possible. Diagnosis wise she has always hit the nail on the head.

Dr May saw my 1 year old for severe cough & congestion. He screamed non-stop in the waiting area for an hour while we waited to be seen. The first thing she asked me was if I had a pacifier to give him so he’d stop crying. Soon after he started vomiting (all over himself, me, the floor, etc). She stood & watched; luckily the nurse was sweet & helpful. After that Dr May left the room without explanation which she did once more only to dismiss his sickness as thrush. She didn’t even call in his Rx

Dr May was disinterested in both my reason for visit and all relative information, instead following her own agenda. Ignored and mocked previous medical test by other MD's. Ran lab test for arthritis, I am a young male, arthritis was not even close to my intent of the visit. Did not follow up, sent lab result in the mail, suggesting I see a specialist for arthritis. She literally did nothing but check the reflexes in my knees and look down my throat. Impersonal, unprofessional, unfocused.

She does not spend any time with her patients. She does not even examine her patients. She is too busy.

I was diagnosed with Costochondritis, inflammation of the chest wall, about two years ago by a ER doctor again this past spring by another doctor. Both said my heart was fine. I followed up with Dr May shortly after going to the ER, she agreed with the ER doctor. I recently went back to Dr May because I was having the same symptoms again. She wanted to do a stress test for my heart. I didn't feel it was necessary but was told I needed too. Results were my heart was fine and I got a bill for $693
