Poor bedside manner
My husband, daughter and I all scheduled appointments with Dr. Mugo for wellness checks My husband has an extensive medical history and, despite this, she did not dig into any of his concerns, questions were given little to no answer/explanation. My daughter had concerns about heart palpitations that went unresolved. I had had several questions for her which took several attempts to connect with her to obtain an answer. Even when she did answer, she did not provide options or solutions beyond - 'I can refer you to a plastic surgeon'. I don't want unnecessary surgery!!! Didn't show any kind of care or regard for our issues and did absolutely zero follow up.

She is condescending, rude, doesn't listen and actually walked out of the room while I was asking a question. She wrote completely inaccurate information in my chart and even claimed I have a condition that I don't have.

Highly recommend. I was in for an asthma issue and mentioned I was constantly tired - she recommended a sleep study’s and possible CPAP. The study came back showing I needed one. Life changing results.

Professional care.
Outstanding professional care: from feeling horrible with vertigo, an extreme headache and head cold, to recovering promptly. Confident, clearly speaking, caring and practical, Dr Mugo has my vote of an outstanding professional, administering prompt and thorough care.

Dr Mugo is knowledgeable, sincere and caring. She is an excellent listener and treats people as individuals. I have no hesitation recommending her to my friends and I believe they will be pleased if they make the choice to see her.

Dismissive / Waste of Time
I read the reviews on this site and felt very hopeful going into my appointment with Dr. Mugo. However, I left the office almost in tears. She was very dismissive of the issues I was having and quickly decided what was wrong with me without any discussion. At one point, she had suggested I get some blood work, left so the nurse could come in and do that, and never returned. I had no opportunity to ask questions, or bring up other issues I was there to discuss. Overall, I felt like my appointment with Dr. Mugo was a waste of time.

Best PCP I Have Ever Had!
I had been trying unsuccessfully to schedule an appt with a new primary care physician through Hartford Healthcare with little success. No one was accepting new patients, so I ended up seeing Dr. Mugo by default.Naturally, I was concerned, since I wasn't able to select a doctor of my choice, but I feel like I hit the jackpot with her. Never in my life have I had a doctor take the time to actually get to know me at my initial appointment. Aside from just giving me a physical, she took the time to ask me questions about my life in general, which allowed me to open up about an issue that had been causing me a great deal of anxiety. I had been keeping quiet about the issue and was so relieved that she cared enough to listen, and actually talk to me about it, urging me to tell her more. I felt so relieved and grateful for her kindness and compassion that I actually cried tears of joy on my way home. Subsequently, I have told friends, family, and colleagues about this gem of a doctor.

Dr. Mugo is incredible. Not only has she taken great care of my health, but also she is lovely to speak with at every appointment. It’s rare to find a doctor that combines such personal touches and care for a patient as a person with outstanding quality of medical care. I highly recommend becoming her patient!

I never felt rushed throughout my visit. Dr. Mugo truly seemed invested in my whole well-being. She remembered personal details about our last conversation that goes beyond my physical health. I felt more like she’s my friend than my physician. I would highly recommend her. And I thought the staff was very friendly and efficient.

Really terrific medical office. This was my first visit and every staff member I encountered was pleasant. A huge concern about moving to CT was losing my primary care doctor that I've had for a long time. Seems I had nothing to worry about after all. Dr. Mugo is warm, affable and was inquisitive about my on-going health issue that has no "quick fix". She is creative with solutions and she LISTENS! Dr. Mugo is providing excellent medical care and I would very highly recommend her. She's a rare gem in a world full of mediocrity.

My partner came home crying because Dr. Mugo made negative (and unhelpful) comments about her acne scars and bunyons, asked why she wasn't married yet, and was very rude in general. When she passively recommended a fitness location to the doctor, Dr. Mugo said, "if it's bad, I'm blaming you" (and not in a jocular sort of way). She gave off a vibe that the client was not welcome there. Maybe she was just having a bad day, but regardless, we expect our doctors to handle themselves with professionalism every time, and we won't be back.

Very pleasant, attentive, knowledgeable, and professional. The entire office has a positive, caring vibe about it. From the moment I arrived for my initial visit, I felt welcomed and important. I was not left waiting for extended periods of time. The whole team operated efficiently, yet relaxed and comforting. I was due for blood work which they did right there in the office. Overall it was a five star experience.

I have been a patient of Dr Mugo for well over one year. I have always found her to be attentive, engaging, knowledgeable and caring. Even during the Covid pandemic her bed side manners did not change, she is always professional, just what you need in a family practice doctor.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Mugo?
Dr. Mugo is Avery condescending, judgmental and unfriendly person. Dr. Mugo does not care about her patients needs as much as she cares about prescribing drugs so as not to lose her license, instead of actually trying to discuss alternative methods of trying to help with medical problems not needing pills. Dr. Mugo also does not believe the patient about past surgeries unless that patient has their medical history on hand, in her words, "What you're telling me is hearsay, I can't proceed without proof.". Dr. Mugo should not be practicing medicine.
