I had an extremely disappointing experience with Dr. Paul Azer at Cedars-Sinai. His dismissive attitude, lack of follow-up, and failure to address my severe symptoms have significantly impacted my life. Despite my consistent and stable treatment for hypogonadism over the past nine years, Dr. Azer made drastic changes to my prescription without proper consideration, leading to severe emotional and physical side effects. He failed to communicate effectively, showed a lack of empathy, and did not involve me in my care plan. Additionally, his preconceived notions about testosterone replacement therapy and unprofessional behavior during appointments were highly concerning. I cannot recommend Dr. Azer to anyone seeking attentive and considerate medical care.

Dr Azer is one of the best Drs I've ever worked with. I live in Chicago and fly to CA to see him regularly - I don't want to work with anyone else. I was suddenly diagnosed with Graves disease and found out I had an abnormal vascular nodule on my thyroid. My case is particularly challenging as my "data" (bloodwork, symptoms, scans, etc.) don't paint a clear picture and are at times contradictory. Dr. Azer is SO knowledgeable, and I just love his approach. He follows both the European and US school of thought in medicine, explaining both clearly to you and letting you be part of making decisions in your care. This is incredibly rare that someone is educated, aware of, and follows multiple schools of thought and approaches. I was so afraid of getting my first thyroid biopsy (as I had friends that had bad experiences with other Drs) and it was so smooth, easy, quick and painless I was so surprised. Every time I see him he does a full examination, and ultrasound as necessary, and really takes the time to talk to me and make sure my care is being managed appropriately. He follows bloodwork and symptoms closely and adjusts medication doses to get you to the right place - I am now on the lowest possible dose and doing great. He is also a realist and removes stress out of what was originally a very scary situation for me. He is also kind, warm and funny! I look forward to my visits. I'm surprised by other reviews - I have seen other endocrinologists and and was beyond underwhelmed. To give some background, when I originally was sick and got bad bloodwork back in Chicago I was referred to "one of the best" Endocrinologists in Chicago. I remotely met this person (this was after covid shutdown, Drs were back in office) who did not even turn the camera on, who then sent me to the hospital for all relevant tests. I got the results back (which very unnerving) via a letter from the hospital when I picked up my CD/scan results, I did not hear anything from the Dr. I had to call the Dr to then make an appointment. She did not even want to see me, and over email just wanted to prescribe me some medication. Said she was busy and could see me in 3 months. I was very sick! She did not want to meet me in person, examine me, do an ultrasound, or a biopsy and wanted to wait 3 months and blindly prescribe me heavy medication. So, I am very grateful for Dr. Azer and the complete opposite experience!

Great at first...then condescending
Disappointing experience with this physician. My first appointment went very well, but subsequent appointments have left me frustrated. He confused the details of my case and then was wildly condescending to me when I asked questions. He clearly was uninterested in interacting with me, and he walked out of the examine room before I finished my questions.

Terrible experience! This doctor is rude, dismissive, and passive aggressive. He's very arrogant and will never go back--left his office in tears. There are many other great endocrinologists out there; don't waste your time with this doctor.

Dr. Azer is amazing. He's one of the few physicians around that make eye contact, listen, and think outside the box by looking at you as a whole and not just an endocrine gland. His team was great and handled everyone efficiently and gracefully. I felt special and completely taken care of.

Categorically the worst physician I ever had the displeasure of interacting with. He was unprofessional, confused me with another patient and behaved physically in a way that was inappropriate in every sense. His lack of basic knowledge re endocrinology is astounding and the fact that he is affiliated with Cedars is a vile stain on such an institution. His office staff reflect his lack of competence and knowledge. They are equally vile to deal with.

I came with a history of thyroid cancer in my family. His dismissive language and stating your just “ over reacting” did not sit well. Horrible bed side manner. Didn’t even state our session was over. Just walked out of room. If we all did business like this, we’d have no clients.

Diagnosed thyroid cancer. I was referred to a phenomenal oncological surgeon who looked up to Dr Azer. What else can I say. He’s thorough matter-of-fact no sugar coating and he applies evidence based practice. The two ladies in billing are superb

Worse Doctor I have ever seen. Rude, doesn't listen. 16 days and 3 messages later I got a call from his front office clerk to tell me everything was fine with the blood and no new prescriptions. Well, I was there because of three bad blood tests and I am not currently taking anything. Don't waste your time with this guy...categorically terrible in all sense of the word.
