Lack of follow through
First of all I waited 2 hours to see the doctor at my initial appointment. After seeing the Dr the recommendation was to move forward with surgery. This was three and a half weeks ago. I have called the Dr medical assistant (4) times and each time a message was left. Even though the message says your call will be returned within 24 hours, to date I have not received a call back. Terrible follow through. I would not recommend the office of Dr Castello at this time.

Dr Castello is a top notch surgeon with a great sense of humor. I recently had surgery and am pleased with the results. I was fearful going into surgery but surgical team was phenomenal and I appreciate that I was treated with respect and dignity. Each member of the team met me at bedside and explained his or her role in my surgery. This surgeon is personable and listens to what my needs and goals are. I would highly recommend Dr. Castello to my friends and family.

Walked out on me
After about 15 minutes into what seemed a normal visit he started edging toward the door. I saw this and said, "I have just a few more questions..." He said "No", walked out the door and into to another patient's waiting room, and closed the door behind him. He never came back to me.

Incompetent
I had a knee replacement over 9 months ago and I'm still struggling to recuperate, on all the visits to Dr Castello I was never told what the issue was, his answer was "I don't know " every time. I ended up seen another dr and will be going through another knee surgery (revision) to correct Castellos mistakes.

I have seen Dr. Castello 3 times. Each visit lasted under 5 minutes, and he has never examined my knees or asked about my knee function. On my last visit, he walked out and down the hall while I was trying to ask him a question. Dr. Castello’s office billed my insurance more than $300 for each of those visits, and the most recent office visit report states that he performed more than 20 tests. He never got within 3 feet of me! The information in the report was lifted from the reports of my previous doctor! Having knee surgery (especially replacements) is a big deal. You deserve a doctor that explains procedures, answers your question, listens when you talk, and keeps accurate and honest medical records. I recommend that you keep looking! He won’t be doing mine! (He gets 2 points because he’s probably a good surgeon.)

Dr. Castello is a fine surgeon and an individual who is extremely easy to communicate with. He has cared for me for many years. He is always in good humor and is very patient oriented. He comes with my highest recommendation as an othopedist.

I personally know that he doesn't have great surgery skills and do not do what he promises during surgery. He promised me to repair my tendon but left it alone during surgery. After surgery he neglected to do diagnostic work up instead of muscle loss and severe pain. When diagnostic study show Brocken tendon, they refuse to operate and made me wait for 6 week. I might not fully recovered due to neglect on his part
