Great personable knowledgeable thorough
Dr. Gordon was a second opinion from my 3b lung cancer surgery in 2019. He was exceptionally personable, gave detailed answers and did a fantastic highly complex lobectomy, 2 wedge resections, 5 rib removals and complex chest reconstruction. I recovered quickly and well. His staff was not always as personable but it was the surgery that was important.

I'm very sad that I trusted this doctor with my husband who had surgery early May 2022 and sadly passed away in August2022 !Simple surgery was told but lied to me from the get-go with his complications after surgery along with his primary doctor and his associates with advocate Christ Medical Center and South Suburban Medical Center you all failed my husband and my children to live their life without their father you all lied to us and treated my husband like he was nothing. You all be named in my lawsuit.

He saved my best friend’s life
My best friend was transferred from Little Company of Mary to Christ Advocate. Thank God! Due to a terrible mistake, her esophagus was nicked inside because of intubation. When she was transferred to Christ and the care of Dr Paul Gordon, her life was on the line. She was operated on immediately and admitted to intensive care. She had to remain sedated for three days and then transferred to step down intensive care. She had a perforation in her esophagus that left her with an infection and fungal invasion. She could not eat anything orally for four weeks and then eventually graduated to ice chips. Dr Gordon monitored her constantly so that she could eventually have small amounts of liquid. He made sure that she was very well cared for….he trains his staff well and leads by example. We weren’t sure he ever went home as he visited late and on weekends..he cares deeply about his patients and is an incredible blessing to staff and patients. She has now returned to life!

Dr Gordon…a real blessing – Mar 15, 2023

In our experience, Dr Gordon does not follow through on his promises or treatment plans, does not communicate well with patients and families, and does not provide adequate care. He does not act in a professional manner. Please avoid this doctor so you don’t suffer the pain that our family has

Dr. Gordon is one of the best doctors that I have ever met. From the start, he made us feel very comfortable with the treatment plan. He is very attentive and compassionate. He operated on my father who had esophageal cancer at Christ Hospital. He made sure that we were taken care of at the hospital as the staff on the post op floor was very caring and knowledgeable. Every nurse went above and beyond during their shift to make my dad comfortable and taken care of. I can’t recommend Dr. Gordon and his staff enough. We owe my dad’s life to him and will be forever grateful for his care!

Dr Gordon is awesome! He’s intelligent, compassionate, cares about his patients, listens and explaines very well. I think he is the best in his field and so do many other patients and professionals in the industry. He saved my life multiple times, trying to keep me alive until my lungs could be transplanted, successfully! If you need a surgeon, this is the one to have !!

Dr. Gordon perfomed an esophagectomy on me due to stage 2 esophageal cancer. He is truly the best surgeon around and I felt so comfortable working with him. He is down to earth and easy to approach with difficult questions. There was no doubt in my mind that he was the best person for the job. He saved my life and I would recommend him to anyone who needed his type of specialized surgeries. Patty who works with him is also truly remarkable at her craft. Thank you- both of you.

Performed lung surgery on me in Feb 2008 at Palos Hospital.2nd stage non-small cell lung cancer confined to the top section of my right lung. Surgery removed the top section along with two swollen lymph nodes. After 5-6 days in the hospital I recovered at home and followed with chemotherapy. It is now almost 8 years from surgery and periodic follow-up scans have indicated I am, at present, cancer free. I am 78 years old.
