Absolutely terrible stay away!
Absolutely terrible. The first problem is when you call them someone from a different country answers and they don’t pass on the messages and they are extremely rude. Try to get a refill for over a week for a very important medication. Asked a doctor to call me never heard back back. Called the exchange and the lady Jessica on the phone, take my message or contact the Dr on-call. Period.

St. Peter’s office
This office does NOT return phone calls! A friend of mine that goes here was in pretty dire need of talking to someone. My friend had a tremendous amount of anxiety after hearing they may have cancer, but got ZERO response! Needless to say, my friend won’t be going back. I definitely recommend steering clear from this office.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hinton for 2 months and the few visits I had with him was great. Dr. Hinton listened to what was going on with me and also had the best feedback to all the questions I had for him about my health. I didn't have to wait in the waiting room no more than 5 minutes before I was taken back to the exam room and hardly any wait time before the doctor came in. I'm glad I'm a patient of Dr. Hinton and if anyone is looking for a doctor, Dr. Hinton is you go to doctor.

I’m not sure where to begin! It really is the overall experience beginning with the robotic person who answers the phone and staffs the front desk, who is incapable of answering any question or following through with important details, to the more than hour-long wait in the exam room (with no acknowledgement or apology for the wait time), to the insufficient wellness exam, to the total inept follow through on giving me or sending orders for blood work and physician referrals after multiple calls and promises to do so. Very disappointing and a main reason so many are left without quality healthcare and to fend for themselves. DON’T WASTE TIME HERE!

The staff at this office is very judgmental. I needed to see a doctor during the middle of covid19. They tried to get me to do a virtual visit. I was in pain from what the blonde nurse said was a kidney stone. I was the only one there and the receptionist told me that. Yet I had to wait 40 minutes to be seen. I think that was on purpose. Today is 9/15/2020. I made an appointment last week for today at 9:15. I tried calling to reschedule due to another severe attack of Epstein Barr. I waited 12 minutes and 39 seconds with no answer. I know this was on purpose. I have cancelled a few times in the past. I also heard the dark haired nurse tell receptionist not to answer a phone call when she recognized the number because she is always running late and tell her when she gets here she will have to reschedule. So they recognized my number and didn't answer. My original appointment was for second opinion. Then this severe attack I wanted to talk to a Doctor. I was too ill to make it.

A family member was treated for depression and when they switched from one medication to another similar one, the nurse practitioner got the dosage too low (per a specialist). Things got dangerously worse. The specialist is helping get it straightened out but without family to intervene, this could’ve ended badly.

I usually don't post bad reviews but I don't want others to have to waste their valuable time. The past three visits I had to wait over an hour just to get called back to a patient room. From there I had to wait another 40 minutes just to be told that Dr. Hinton was busy and that I had to see the nurse practitioner. My most recent visit I waited in the lobby for over an hour. To be fair, when I do actually get to see Dr. Hinton, he is knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. I get the feeling that they have taken on too many patients and don't have enough staff to deal with everyone. I have to take off work to see the doctor so it is very frustrating when the doctor is not considerate about my time. I will be looking for a new GP. Unrelated to the wait times but the lobby in the Wentzville office has a very strong cigarette odor to it.

My mother goes here. Has been admitted in the hospital and he is not good at finishing the paperwork for orders,to get scripts, He takes forever to reply back to calls. Very poor. If you cant take on your case load it's time to get help or stop taking patients. If ur not reliable that's not good practice.

My children had been seeing Dr. Umar, but unfortunately when he retired Dr. Paul and Jennifer Hinton took over for him. Since then my children have ONLY seen a doctor a couple times (Jennifer Hinton, never Paul Hinton) and for some reason they only schedule with the nurse practitioner. The nurse practitioner is fantastic, but not a doctor. I recently had my sick daughter in the office and of course was seen by the nurse, was told she could go back to school the next day if she had a couple doses of drops for pink eye and if her fever stayed away and then told us to come back if she got worse. It turns out she has pneumonia. She got worse and since I never see a doctor in the office I chose to take her to the E-R. It turns out she has pneumonia. This is not the first incident like this we've had with this office either and have complained about not seeing a doctor on several different occasions I would highly recommend staying away from this office!

You can expect to wait over an hour in the waiting room every visit and an additional 30-45 min waiting once you’re in the exam room. This is only to be rushed through your appointment. Dr. Hinton used to be an excellent provider, but he now has too many practices and too many patients. Scheduling is a nightmare and forget about getting your refills in a timely manner. I hate to leave after ten years, but the care is not what it used to be.

He is both my husband and father’s doctor. It takes a ridiculous amount of time to get in for an appointment or to request a prescription refill. And his office staff has been flat out rude every time I have come into contact with them through the years. We’ll be moving on.

My one year old was hospitalized last week (nobody followed up) during the time that my eight year old was to have her follow up visit regarding her ADHD medication. I called and cancelled the visit but was NOT notified that a doctor would not be available to write the script for two weeks. I find this so completely unacceptable and unprofessional to not have a doctor available for weeks, without a backup for your patients. The receptionist was not helpful and had ZERO COMPASSION.

The office people couldn’t care less about you when you walk in. They just keep talking to each other and ignore you. Rude. I was forgotten in the room waiting for Dr Hinton. The girls lied and kept me waiting while they had their lunch. Finally Dr Hinton comes in and pretends to look me over barely touches the stethoscope to me and rushes out presumably to have his lunch! Horrible office and Doctor! Looking for a different one!

DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR. If you want someone who actually takes time with you, do not use Hinton Healthcare. He is the only one who can prescribe meds and he doesn’t care if you are out, he will take a week to send one. When It comes to visits, you have a minimum wait of 45 min before he walks into your room and takes about 5 min with you. I have never met a more careless doctor.

I have seen Dr Hinton who is very thorough, caring and will not just treat symptoms, but go for curiny tge root cause. I still go to his office but now I see Lori Campbell, who possess the same qaulities as Dr Hinton. She really goes above and beyond any physician I've ever seen. And kudos to alp the staff. I usually go to the Wentzville office, but I have been to O'Fallon. You will not find more caring and knowledged people.

Dr. Paul Hinton is a nice person, and that is the ONLY thing nice I can state. Over a 4 year period, we have been left in a waiting room for an average of 45 minutes, even when we arrive early, before we are called in. We are treated with extreme rudeness by all staff. We have been lefted in rooms and forgotten about. Getting prescription refills is next to impossible. Billing is a complete nightmare. Today was the last straw. After an hour waiting for the first appointment today, we walked out.
