Spared from unnecessary surgery

Thank goodness for my consultation with Dr. Russo. Other doctors were quick to suggest an operation. He suggested further testing to rule out a 10% possibility of a benign tumor. This additional testing, evaluation and care for the overall person, spared my loved one major surgery. I am beyond grateful to his expertise and empathy. In addition, an immensely pleasant person.

Charming at the 'meet and greet', very rude and dismissive when asked an important question re a mistake he made that landed me in a hospital for two days. He may be good overall, for others. But he caused me pain and the shock of a two day hospital stay when I was clearly told I'd be an outpatient. That said, I cannot recommend him.

Amazing Dr and person
Dr Russo is like no other when it comes to a surgeon. He treats his patients like his family and you feel like your are in the best hands possible. Had my kidney removed last summer and Dr Russo was kind and patient explaining every detail so that I could make informed decisions. Simply the best!

I have no words to express my gratitude and admiration for this brilliant doctor who is also possessed of enormous compassion and charisma. He and his team successfully performed a very complex surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, removing a large malignant tumor mass from my husband's only kidney. Before I went to see Dr. Paul Russo, the kidney was going to be completely removed and my husband was going to go on dialysis. We know that our Father God put him in our path.

Outstanding physician and highly intelligent and caring human being. I have been Dr. Russo's patient for nearly 10 years. I make the effort to travel to MSKCC from another state, since I know I can trust his clinical/diagnostic judgement and his excellent surgical skills.

Best Doctor I have ever met. Best Doctor to ever operate on me. Just 1 month ago he performed a partial nephrectomy on me. I am doing great . I truly believe that only through his hands I still have the kidney he operated on. His staff is top notch. I highly recommend this wonderful Surgeon to anyone in need of Urological help.
