I rarely write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience with this doctor because of how profoundly negative it was. As a psychiatrist, listening to your patients is paramount, and unfortunately, this doctor failed in that regard in every possible way. Looking back, I can still clearly remember how dismissive and rude he was during my appointments. I went to him seeking help for a number of issues I was struggling with, but instead of listening to my concerns, he brushed them off as unimportant or irrelevant. I even brought my mother along to one appointment, hoping her perspective would help him understand my situation better. Despite her being highly educated and offering relevant insight into my symptoms, he still refused to acknowledge my concerns. Later, when I sought help from a different doctor, it turned out that what I had feared was, in fact, correct—something this psychiatrist had dismissed outright. As a young adult woman, it’s incredibly frustrating not to be taken seriously when seeking medical help. I know it’s not easy for doctors, but listening to patients and staying current with psychiatric research is a basic expectation. This doctor’s approach felt based on outdated information, and he seemed uninterested in keeping up with modern methods of care. It’s hard to have faith in a healthcare provider when they don’t even attempt to understand you. In one particularly jarring experience, I actually walked out of his office mid-appointment because of how dismissive and rude he was. It was the first time I’ve ever felt the need to do that, and it speaks to how deeply uncomfortable and unheard I felt. My mother, who has a great deal of experience with healthcare professionals, also agrees that he was by far the worst psychiatrist she has encountered. In my opinion, this doctor needs to take a hard look at his approach to patient care. If he’s not willing to listen, learn, and improve, perhaps he should consider a different field of medicine. Patients deserve better than this, and I hope he takes the time to reflect on how his actions impact those he’s supposed to be helping.

Dismissive, Horrible Doctor, BE CAREFUL
Be careful with Dr. Simon. He is truly one of a kind. His self righteous ways of denying anything I say about my experience with medications and denying diagnoses I have been diagnosed with by other doctors most of my life is truly concerning. The only reason I started seeing him in the first place was because my other doctor was no longer a provider of my insurance. I hope one day Dr. Simon is accountable for his actions.

Im truly sad to see the negative comments. I have seen him for 3.5 years and he is actually the first doctor that has listened to me and found medication that works without side effects. I have no plans to go elsewhere and happy to have found him.

Would not even consider seeing another doctor.
Telehealth
I've been with Dr Simon for over 13 years. I am shocked at the bad reviews. I have never had a single problem with him or his staff at any of his locations. If it wasn't for him, I don't know where my life would be at this point. He changed it so I have a much better quality and happy life. It's very hard to believe he has ever been mean and condescending to anyone. Thanks Dr Simon and your staff.

He should have his license taken away!
Telehealth
I went to him by default since other offices had a 1 year wait list. He changed up all my meds for depression and anxiety but was unclear of how to wean off and wean on. Subsequently I crashed. When I crashed again and left a message to call back (he never called back btw and waited til the appt the assistant who did call back had set) at the highest dosage I was told my symptoms were invalid. I told him how little sleep I was getting and was told I had to be sleeping more than that. He just kept writing prescriptions and my insurance Co finally called a halt to that. He ordered bloodwork a few months ago. He could not find the order or results so surmised it never happened. The results are in my portal! He should not be treating people! He needs to be treated himself!! Do Not Go To This 'Doctor'!

Scarily incompetent
Dismissive and impatient with me (mom) but cooperative when my husband was at sessions. I asked for recommendations for therapists and he said it was 'impossible to keep a list'. My child declined under his care so deeply they had a suicide attempt. We asked him for help and he said, 'What do you want me to do? I only do medicine.' We got on every psychiatrist's waiting list we could to get out from under his care as fast as we could.

Avoid unless you like being condescended to...
I guess I should have respected the poor ratings and reviews more than I did--needless to say, within a couple minutes of talking to this "professional", I realized I'd never return to this office for anything. Immediately this guy was dismissive of my concerns about recently being diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 43. He was condescending and treated me like an unintelligent child. He'd ask questions to learn my personal and social history and it was going in one ear and out the other. Without proper data decided to prescribe medicine for anxiety and depression even though that's not why I was there to see him. He sees what he wants and isn't interested in getting to the truth. It makes me so upset to have to wait and wait and spend all kinds of money just for him to be casually dismissive. If you want to get better, don't see this terrible person. ADHD is wrecking my life and now I have to wait even longer to get proper treatment. Avoid this guy.

Extremely rude and dismissive. I had seen another doctor in the same office for testing and diagnoses of my biggest problem and when I saw him he didn't have that paperwork (not his fault but annoying), showed up 15 minutes late, completely dismissed the issue I was seeing him for and prescribed me medication for other issues I have no symptoms of presently. After researching the medication it was an absolutely awful choice for me but he didn't take the time to discuss or ask my opinions on anything. Didn't seem to be interested in medical history beyond what "labels" were applicable to me.

Can you say, "inverted bell curve?!" It seems patients either love him or hate him and it looks like most be hatin'. It's interesting, yet heartbreaking, to read some of these reviews. MANY had a similar NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE that I had! Sophia in O'Fallon, he did almost the same thing to me. I had been seeing a psychiatrist for years who left recently. I was forced to speak with Dr. Simon if I wanted another refill of my prescriptions. By phone, he asked, "So, why do you think you're (illness here)?" Was this a quiz? I answered the best I could, raved how much better I've been doing from my previous doctor's prescription, then he TOTALLY CROSSED THE LINE, PROFESSIONALLY, or UNprofessionally! He made a very negative comment about my previous doctor AND went on to tell me that "the feds raided their office". It made me sick. I heard he has since moved to another location/company. Let this be a warning!

My first visit with Dr. Simon did not go well. He insulted me saying I had a negative attitude. He's very condescending. He did not listen to me. When I told him how I was feeling he said it was the first time in his practice that he had heard of this. It is his way or the highway. Not compassionate! Terrible doctor. Threatened to cut my medicine in half. Anyway, there are many other compassionate, caring doctor's out there but he's not one of them. I see why he's rated so poorly!

He did not listen. He took symptoms at surface value instead of the reasons behind them. He insisted I had a disorder despite me giving clear, reasonable evidence to the contrary. He is uncaring, and unsympathetic. He shoved pills in my hand and pushed me out the door. I was on a different medication every week under his direction. I feel like I was taken advantage of. I went to him for help and he only made me worse. I saw a new Psychiatrist and he said that was a lazy diagnosis.

Disappointed in MO – Feb 02, 2019
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Simon?
Made me repeat myself multiple. I wanted to get back on a medication he had previously put me on; he made me tell him why I wanted it several times. I developed a little attitude the last time he made me repeat myself. He then demanded me to leave the room in a way a parent tells you to go to your room. I refused and then he threatens to call the police on me, and started insulting to my mother. Not professional whatsoever. Should not be responsible for mentally ill people. Terrifying.

HE THEN REPORTED US 2 CPS because i didn't want 2 give my kid a b12 synthetic shot, but was trying 2 get her docs 2 give her a 'natural' b12. NOW CPS IS INVESTIGATING US. JUST WHAT MY SICK KID NEEDS.
