His bed side manner was offensive
I agree with others that stated the doctor was hasty, as if he would rather be anywhere else. He was so demeaning and dismissive that I didn't feel comfortable asking more specific questions. Based on his and the closing front desk staff behavior, I decided to seek continuing treatment with another provider.

There is Room for Improvement
I recently had to go to the ER and it was determined that I had a kidney stone. Also to follow up with a urologist. I made an appointment with Dr Smith because Dr Kent didn’t have appointments for three weeks. Dr Kent wa the actual urologist recommended by the ER doctor. However, if I was ever to get support I needed someone ASAP. The initial consult went well and I was asked to take an abdominal X-ray. This was on Tuesday. It is now Friday and no response from Dr Smith or his office. It seems that patient care is being placed on the sidelines and getting back to patients in need is not priority. Don’t doctors know that we go to them for help and are depending on them to listen and help us through whatever Illnesses we have? I wish Dr Smith would prioritize and give his patients a sense of urgency in treatment and follow up.

It was suggested by an ER doctor to follow up with a urologist after a bout with kidney stones which landed me in the ER twice in a week. Having never seen a urologist before, thus began the arduous process of researching doctors that were in network and finding one that I thought would best suit my needs. Since I was already going to go for a specific purpose, I thought since I am now a middle age male that it might be best to just go establish becoming a regular patient of one. There is always a bit of anxiety when meeting a new doctor and especially when you are meeting one in a field for which you have never been seen. Dr. Smith placed my mind at ease very quickly. He addressed the issue for which I was primarily there and I feel very comfortable becoming a long term patient to address any need I may have down the road. His bedside manner is great. If first impressions and intuition are to be trusted, I know I made the right choice by going to see him today.

WOULD GIVE ZERO IF I COULD. I scheduled an ER follow up visit and Dr. Smith was entirely unhelpful in listening to me, reading the records I brought, and was in a complete hurry to get out of the room. I was talking and in his haste, he sent a prescription I had just taken and finished into the pharmacy. Apologized and sent another. Didn’t know anything regarding my medical history even though he had it in his hands. Told me the test results I had were “not relevant”The nurse called to tell me he didn’t know what else to do for me so to go see my family doctor. He spent less than 10 minutes with me. I have blood work, scans, and urinalysis that show clear infection and he himself said there is infection. Completely confusing and horrific “care” this man is giving out. I contacted the board and reported him. I’ve also scheduled elsewhere because I still have all the same problems and symptoms I’ve had for weeks with no help. DONT GO HERE

My recent experience with Dr Smith was adequate. Generally seemed in a hurry to explain things even though tried to answer any questions. Was left waiting for a long long time for my ultra sound biopsy. In general MH is so large they seem to have internal communication problems--- a patient is a client seems to escape the internal communications. Office staff at Dr Smith's Katy office were generally trying to be helpful.

Would give negative stars if possible. This doctor was arrogant, dismissive, and flat out wrong. He wanted to do surgery for what turned out to be an autoimmune disorder, even after I told him a prior urologist aborted a surgery in progress because of unexplained inflammation. Never went back after first office visit. Total waste of money. (The support staff was great - very friendly and courteous.)

I first saw Dr. Smith in the Katy Hermann ER, where he quickly diagnosed a very painful kidney stone and a much larger bladder stone. Dr. Smith was very professional, explained everything thoroughly, and formulated a plan for me quickly. He explained all my options and once I decided, he was very proactive in "making it happen." I highly recommend him and his associate, Dr. Kent.

Although he looked young enough for me to offer to buy him a six pack of beer for him and his buddies, he was very professional, took time to explain and I couldn't be happier considering the fact I was having surgery on my testicle.

Dr. Smith saw us on an emergency basis, managed to get us scheduled for a stent placement the next day and fit us in (less than 3 months later) for a corrective surgery over the winter holidays. He's been available, responsive and really able to calm the fears of the teenaged patient. I could not say ENOUGH good things about Dr. Smith and his team!! His PA and even Jessica in the office were amazing.
