I'm not exaggerating -- he gave me back my life
I saw Dr Swoboda about 10 years ago at NWH, and after many years of misdiagnosis, he finally figured out what was wrong with me and treated me. It's more than a decade later. I'm with a different practice because I moved, but I'm still fine, still following Dr Swoboda's orders (as he said it would likely be a lifelong issue). He and another doctor (the doc that referred me to him) literally gave me back my life. I do not exaggerate when I say that. I'm writing this now because I just read the notes he wrote during the office visits all those years ago (in Patient Gateway now), and he was so right about absolutely everything. I'm being vague for health reasons but Dr Swoboda, I just want to thank you from the very bottom of my heart. You have made an enormous difference in my life.

Thankful Patient – Feb 25, 2025

I was extremely disappointed by my experience with Dr. Paul Swoboda, MD. Throughout our appointment, he exhibited what appeared to be uncontrolled anger and became visibly agitated when discussing potential changes to my medication. In the midst of our conversation, he abruptly left the exam room, leaving his computer open and unsecured. Upon his return, he informed me—without any explanation—that I would need to find a new primary care physician. His communication was poor and dismissive, and his overall conduct struck me as highly unprofessional. I would not recommend his services to anyone seeking reliable, respectful medical care.

He would not listen to anything I had to say. I’ve never had a doctor so disinterested in his job. A big waste of time.

Terrible ! I have to agree with the assessments of the other 5 -1 star reviews. I had to leave this practice after 30+ years when Dr. Hall retired and 1 visit with Swoboda was enough for me . While the Staff and some of the other NP's are fantastic here I knew I wasn't going to be well served by Dr. Swoboda. He doesn't listen nor seem to hear you and goes on about himself ,which if he were the patient would be fine.

Dr. Swoboda is new to the practice where I have been a patient for 23+ years. While I miss the prior pcp, I have found Dr. Swoboda caring and knowledgeable and gets 4 stars instead of 5 only because I don't know if long enough for the highest grade.

He's horrible. Has a short fuse and gets angry and frustrated very easily. Not a good doctor, in my opinion. Will not listen to me, the patient. Don't use him, there are plenty of other good doctors out there.
