Dr. Paul Sykes, MD

Dr. Sykes always explains things in detail and shows me my BrainMRI pictures which I find so helpful. He keeps me feeling positive about my situation. I feel extremely comfortable and at ease with Dr. Sykes. Highly recommend him.

Dr. Sykes, is very caring, listens to me, asks questions and works with me for the best solutions for my autoimmune condition. My husband also sees him for memory issues and he was very proactive in getting him the help he needed. His staff are always kind a caring. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Sykes.

He doesn’t believe anything you say if you have a mental disorder. I have post concussion syndrome and he doesn’t believe any of the symptoms I say I have because of my mental disorder (basically from his notes). He tells one thing to your face and says another thing under his notes, he lies in his notes. He said I was extremely talkative to the nurse but stuttering in front of him (lie. I wasn’t talkative to the nurse. I recommend that everyone stay away from him, especially if you want to be diagnosed and helped correctly.

Did not follow up with me. His assistant berated me on the phone for not calling during covid lockdown to ask about my dropped referral. Not sure where I stand as the assistant took things personally.

I saw Dr. Sykes twice for severe migraines. He seemed caring, although slightly bothered by my many questions. At the second visit he prescribed a new, injectable medicine for migraines without saying much about it except that he didn't like one of the several available, but that my insurance company had the ultimate authority about which I would get. I went home to read about it and called his office later because I had seen several frightening reports about side effects. The woman at the desk didn't like my questions either. When I went to send the doctor a message the next day, he had dropped off my list of providers. When I called the office, I learned that I had been "dropped" without any notification from the practice. This is malpractice not to mention unprofessional in the extreme. I am without a neurologist now and in extreme pain. I would avoid Dr. Sykes and seek out a doctor with more knowledge and compassion.

Having power of attorney over my mother (88) who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease, my brother and I searched for the best neurologist in the area. He was highly recommended by our primary physician at St. Vincent's. He has totally lived up to his reputation and has given excellent care in every way. I'd give him 10 stars if I could.
