Excellent
Our appointment was great. He is thorough, explains well, listens. He's straightforward and to the point which I appreciate. He didn't do extra unneccessary testing and educated us on my son's growth and weight which has always been a struggle since he's so tall and skinny. I feel relieved and heard after our appointment.

Paul Thornton diagnosed my son after a horrific ordeal at a pediatric hospital in another state. My son had a focal lesion on his pancreas as a newborn...within a day, he was scheduled for surgery that completely cured what was a life-threatened disease. I will be forever grateful for him and his team of skilled surgeons. My kiddo is now a health graduate student -- with a big scar, but healthy -- who would not otherwise be thriving.

Our experience has been great with Dr. Thornton. After months of doctors beating around the bush with our son’s diagnosis, Dr. Thornton is getting to the bottom of it. He is very straightforward, which we appreciate. More doctors need to be, so parents and kids aren’t wasting their time. He is smart and knows what he is talking about. He explained everything to us and was very thorough. We drive up from Austin to see him and we are very lucky to have found him and his staff.

WOW! I have read some horrible reviews. I personally enjoy having him as a medical professional. He certainly is a bit different than other doctors per se. He is straight forward...which is exactly what I want in a doctor...and answers my questions/explains very well. My only concern is the timeframe between my son’s appts. But goodness, the more we see him the more and more thrilled I am in being sent to him.

The pros: Dr Thornton is smart. He uses his brain rather than following textbook diagnoses and approaches. He knows a lot about nutrition which is something most doctors have no clue about. He is more open minded than most endocrinologists we've seen. The cons: He's curt, and can come across very rude.

Dr. Thornton was horribly rude and arrogant. He refused to listen and told my daughter her symptoms and the side effects from her thyroid meds were imaginary. He wouldn't even order any labs. He was so rude that we were both in tears when we left.

I think he is a very smart, competent and extremely experienced Doctor. I would highly recommend him if you want a Doctor that knows what he is doing . He is not a sugar coat kind of Doctor, which I actually prefer. I want to know what the facts are and the best course of action for treating my daughter. I like him so well that I fly my 2 year old in from Puerto Rico every 3 months just to see him. I have the option of flying her to see anyone in the world and I take her to Dr. Thorton.

He was obnoxious and refused to listen to concerns. He also appears to be in the pocket of big pharma considering the way he responds to the negative side effects of his pet medications. He also has a horrible rapport with children. I do not recommend.

Difficult to talk to. Came off as arrogant. Refused to see us because he overscheduled his day and did not tell us until we drove 30 miles and navigated the new check in system.

Rude and mumbled to my wife and daughter that the office visit is a waste of his time once he determines it has nothing to do with my daughter's thyroid as referred to by our primary pediatrician.
