Dr. Paula Busse, MD

I saw Dr. Busse back in March. I had been dealing with a period allergy around my eyes since the summer of 2018. The allergy happened roughly once a month (around my period), where my eyes got swollen. I kept track of my symptoms and it was clear that the allergy was connected to period. I saw multiple doctors to figure out this allergy: 3 allergists, 2 general physicians, 2 dermatologists, 1 ophthalmologist, 1 endocrinologist, and 2 obgyns. No one knew of an allergy connected to hormones or period. The answer was always: I don't know and I haven't heard of this. I was about to give up and had started to accept that I had to live with this monthly nuisance. But then I saw Dr. Busse. She listened to me, paid attention to my observations, and even looked at a journal publication I brought that described a sex hormone allergy. She gave me a solution that works. I take 2 over-the-counter allergy meds around my period. Since I saw her, I haven't had my allergy.

No stars - The worst doctor in all of New York- after travelling two hours to see her for a 4:20 pm appointment, (of which her office confirmed by telephone the day before, 5/29) and arriving on time, she refused to examine and consult with my daughter for her angioedema condition because she had to be at an appointment. This was at 4:35 pm after her office staff, because of their incompetency, could not find the right name with the correct information. I would not recommend her or the staff of Mt. Sinai to treat a dog, let alone human beings. So our travel time, the amount of tolls paid, and the gas used, was all for nothing.
