so focused on weight
i was referred to this doctor over concerns about my baby having growth restriction. his arms and legs were not growing enough. it ended up being fine, just happened because im under 5 feet tall. but this doctor kept mentioning my weight and bmi. she kept talking about my bmi. she made assumptions that i had diabetes. she made comments saying that after pregnancy i should lose weight so i'd be 'in perfect shape next time.' she told me i was at an extremely unhealthy weight before pregnancy,,,,i have only gained 18 pounds and im 36 weeks now! anyway, later that night, her visit notes came in. she put me down to me recommend a referral to a bariatric center postpartum and mentioned that i was morbidly obese multiple times. it was highly offensive.

Hyper focused on body size
My husband and I met Dr. Melone when we were family planning and she said I should use a drug to lose a quick 100 pounds before getting pregnant. I was surprised by this because of my disordered eating history. My husband and I consulted with our other doctors and chose to try for pregnancy due to my age. I saw Dr. Melone a 2nd time at 21 weeks pregnant. My primary OB had already been supporting me with challenging yet attuned conversations about my health and risk factors related to my pregnancy. I am well aware of my weight as I live in my large body. Dr. Melone went out of her way during our short visit to repeatedly point out my body size, and how unhealthy I am without reference to any other aspects of health. I did not feel it was helpful or necessary to focus so narrowly on my body size since there is not much I can do to change it at this point in my pregnancy. I felt extremely unsupported during my visits with Dr. Melone.

Very Rude
Told me that if people can’t afford the MFM bill, which for me was $900 for one visit, that they shouldn’t have babies. Completely unprofessional.

After my ultrasound she came in to go over the results, which were healthy. Instead, she focused on finding health complications based only my pregnancy weight. It’s beyond me how a medical professional can leave you feeling devastated after receiving good news. Somethings not right with this one.

Exceptional poor bed-side manor. Have worked with a large number of healthcare givers through the past 30+ years and have only seen 2 healthcare professionals with a worse bed-side manor. Will go out of my way never to see her or any one in her practice again.

After 4 losses in the past, Dr. Melone was the only doctor who recommended cerclage for my high risk pregnancy. She performed the surgery at 14 weeks and a few months later I was blessed with a beautiful baby girl! I highly believe that it was because of Dr. Melone that I am blessed with being a mom! <3 I will always go back to her and recommend her a million times! She is compassionate and she cares deeply for her patients! Love her!

From early on my husband and I knew the pregnancy wasn't going as smooth as we would've hoped. Without providing and oversharing details, we are preparing ourselves for the worst. This review isn't about what we are going through, but about our experience with Dr. Melone. We saw her for a 2nd opinion and even though she wasn't able to share any good news with us, we believe she was/is by far the best doctor we could've seen. Her approach, bedside manners and knowledge are all undeniable.

Dr. Melone is a leading surgeon in the field of accreta. I am certain she saved my life, as she helped to deliver my son, manage my blood loss and remove a defective placenta from my internal organs. She is straight forward with her diagnosis, but she is also extremely thorough and caring and when faced with a life threatening condition, there was not a single moment that I doubted her abilities. She is amazing as a person and a doctor.
