Dr. Paula Watts, DO

Some doctors are smart; some thoughtful; some kind; some disciplined but flexible; some engaging and empathic; some humble but assertive. Dr. Watts is the rare combination of all these. She recently managed my inpatient stay as “Hospitalist” at Highlands Ranch Hospital. I had a series of head-scratching conditions that begged for differentiated diagnoses and astute treatment choices—especially after several docs whiffed. The more challenging things got, the more concerned, persistent and caring she became. She wisely invited other consults for heart and blood infection conditions. She stayed “in charge” but never allowed her ego to exclude any relevant opinion—including my own! She respectfully listened; offered clear guidance; but never tried to force me. She proved herself daily and I relaxed into trusting her. I would trust her with my life; in fact, I did just that. She is truly one of the best “generalists” I have seen in my 70 years. My advice: grab her if you can.

Dr. Watts was relentless in her pursuit of my diagnosis. She listened to my concerns, discussed my case daily with my family, and even called me to check on my well-being days after my discharge.
